My new release MEET ME IN MAINE(Book One of The Blue Harbor Series) brings murder, mystery, and romance to a seaside town.
Sit back, put up your feet, and let me bring mystery and romance to your lives.
Follow the candles to where they may lead you. Down the dark corridor you walk. Expecting a monster at every corner. No one appears. No sounds to break the dead quiet. Down the corridor you go. Waiting for something or someone. But all you see is darkness and more candles. A door appears at the end. It creaks open. Do you really want to see what is on the other side? Human nature propels you forward. Forward into the dark gloom. What happens next? The answer is hidden in the inner recesses of your mind. Follow your nightmare to its bitter end. Hurry before you wake up. There’s no turning back now.
The house sits dark and empty. Who will visit its dark rooms? Will someone ever sit on the chair to gaze deeply into the vanity mirror? Spirits walk the long hallways. Waiting for company. Waiting for life and sounds to enter the house once again. Is it so much for them to ask? Why is it so hard to find new owners? How much longer must they wait? Waiting can be pure agony when you have nowhere else to go.
Hi! We’re here for the party at End House. No one seems to be home. Should we stay or should we go? We heard movement inside. Sounds of laughter and music. Maybe there is a party for us. Let’s go in!
The haunted house. A house that sits in the dark, all alone. No neighbors to witness or hear anything. Come inside. The wind slams the door shut behind you. Darkness envelopes you into its thick arms. The chandelier begins to sway from the wind. Where is this wind coming from? Should you stay or should you go? Check the front door. Too bad it’s locked. What now? Eerie howling sounds are coming from inside the walls. Are those hands reaching for me? Hands from inside the walls? Help! THE DEAD GAME has begun. A beautiful castle. It stands alone and deserted. What stories could it reveal to us? How many lives have passed through its majestic halls? Has there been dancing in its rooms? Or have sadness and death pervaded its stone walls? Go inside and listen to its story. Listen to the sighs and whispers, emanating from its dark rooms. What do you hear? I can hear both sadness and joy mixed together in its soft sighs. All you have to do is listen.
The candles will light your way through End House. The house may look deserted but there is a host. He will play his evil game once all the guests have arrived. Will any live? Will any die? It is too soon to tell. The night has only just begun. The Dead Game by Susanne Leist
How could evil exist in a perfect paradise? The town of Oasis is famous for its sunshine, picturesque streets, and white-sand beaches. Yet evil haunts the streets at night. Dark shadows stalk the innocent residents. Tourists disappear from the fancy Oasis Hotel. In the center of it all, lies End House, with its long, dark history of disappearances. Who is responsible for the evil that has been kept hidden in Oasis? Who or what has taken over the town and has the people terrified to come out at night? THE DEAD GAME by Susanne Leist
Why does the house beckon to us even when we know of its evil history? Families tend to disappear from End House. So why are we going there? Can anything good come out of this besides our own deaths? But yet, we are still going. THE DEAD GAME by Susanne Leist
End House stands quiet and waiting for us. A party is supposed to be thrown in our honor. But no one appears to be home. There’s no host or guests to greet us. There are only two lines of candles, one leading up the main staircase and the other leading down the right hallway. Which direction should we choose? Should we split up or remain together? See what happens next in THE DEAD GAME.
HAVING A VISION I enter the bookstore. It’s cold and dark inside. I turn on the lights. Stacks of bookcases are revealed in the dim light. I draw the drapes covering the windows. The Florida sun flows in, directing its bright glow on the deserted store. I can envision couches and chairs between the huge corner windows, and a counter by the front door to serve my pastries and coffee. Yes, it was all coming alive to me. A perfect bookstore/ coffee shop. I can see a peaceful future for me in the seaside town of Oasis. Little did I know or suspect that otherworldly plans were taking place at the same time as mine. And these plans were in no way as peaceful and innocent as mine. THE DEAD GAME by Susanne Leist

The whole town is dead, even the fish. The Dead take no prisoners. THE DEAD GAME by Susanne Leist
Linda and Shana found a way to attend the private party on the hill. Now they had to convince Mike and David to join them.
After they
returned to the coffee shop, Shana perked up and said, “Let’s bring Mike
and David with us to the party. Since we are now invited guests, we
could bring along our own dates. They have a personal interest in
solving the crimes at End House, since Tom and Edward are also their
close friends.”
“Okay.” Linda hesitated. “I guess that could work.”
On their way over to the antique store next door, Shana asked, “Do you really believe Shirley is for real, or is her grandmother routine fake?”
“I don’t know—we can’t
write anyone off our list of suspects. We have to check out each
person—even Todd and Sam. By the way, I liked the way you got Shirley to
invite us to accompany her to the party.”
“All in a day’s work.”
Once inside the antique
shop, Linda realized that something was wrong: the lights were off and
David’s bright chatter was missing. They made their way through the
rooms of antique furniture and through the small room
devoted to modern art. At the back of the store, they found Mike and
David sitting behind a huge antique desk with sad expressions mounted on
their long, sorrowful faces.
Shana wanted to cheer them
up so she said, “Linda and I are invited to Diane’s big party tomorrow
night and we would like you to be our dates!”
“We’re not in the mood for a party—we’re upset about Tom
and Edward. Where are they? Are they alive or dead? I’m afraid that
we’ll never know. And what do I tell their parents, who have been
calling and searching for their sons?” David asked them.
“You can’t tell their parents about what really happened to
them: no one is going to believe the true story. People don’t exit
through disappearing doorways—never to be seen again. You could just
tell them that they closed their shop and then left town together,” said
Shana.
“Great! Now I have to lie to the poor people!” replied David.
“I’ll call them today to tell them that their sons have left town together…without informing anyone where they were going. I agree that this way will be better for everyone,” said Mike.
“I’m sure that this is the
best way,” said Linda. “Meanwhile, we can attend this party and find out
why the hill residents meet in secret at Diane’s house twice a year.
The more we find out, the better chance we have of finding Tom and
Edward. We can’t give up!"
What is at the edge of this cliff? Does a house sit there? Does it hang over the sharp rocks that are being pummeled by the ocean’s relentless waves? Yes, there is a house. It stands alone with no neighbors nearby. It is called End House. It has a long history of disappearances and unusual occurrences; events that take place in the dead of night. Tonight, there is a special party being thrown for the new residents of Oasis—at End House. As they drive up to the house, the winds pick up speed and begin to howl. They begin to regret their decision to attend this mysterious party, thrown by an unnamed host. Should they enter this house? With much trepidation, they walk in and find it be deserted. Or so they think.
This picture perfectly represents the scene where the young
residents of Oasis entered End House for the first time.
The deserted house stood alone at the edge of a steep
cliff overlooking the ocean. No one was there to greet them except
absolute quiet and darkness. It was supposed to have been a surprise
party for them, but there was no host to greet them. There were no other
guests. In the main hallway, a marble staircase faced them.
Candles were lit on the staircase and along the house’s right hallway,
daring them to venture farther into the house. The split up into two
groups: the first group followed the candles downstairs; while the
second group climbed the staircase to check out the upstairs. What lay ahead for this group of friends? Will they
make it out alive from this house? Who is the mysterious host who had
planned this fake party? Will there be games for them to play? And if
so, will these games be innocent or deadly? Read “The Dead Game” by Susanne Leist to find these answers and much more.
FOLLOW THE CANDLES. THEY WILL LEAD YOU DOWN THE DARK HALLWAYS OF END HOUSE. SURPRISES ARE IN STORE FOR ANYONE WHO VENTURES UPSTAIRS OR DOWN THE STAIRS TO THE BASEMENT.
Do you see faces in the window? Are they human faces or are they missing faces? Don’t stop—walk by very quickly. Maybe they don’t see you. Or maybe it’s too late. You will now become one of them. One of The Dead. THE DEAD GAME has begun.
DOES THIS CASTLE HAVE A CREEPY HISTORY? HAVE BODIES BEEN FOUND OVER THE YEARS? ARE THE HALLS DARK WITH SHADOWS? DO PEOPLE DISAPPEAR—NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN? IT MIGHT AS WELL HAVE A DARK HISTORY SINCE I CAN SEE IT IN MY MIND’S EYE.
As they continued along the long hallway, the candles in front of them
lit up…while the ones behind them went dark. It was leading them
somewhere but where?
On the right wall, a third door hung open with steps leading down to the
basement. Louise refused to move forward another step. “I don’t want to
go down into the basement of this house. It could have a dungeon or
even a torture chamber.”
Mike glared back at her over his shoulder. “You have the choice of either remaining here alone or following us downstairs.”
Louise couldn’t believe how cruel Mike was to her. She was used to men
flirting with her and doing things for her; she used to be very popular
before she’d arrived in this town. But she didn’t know how to deal with a
man who didn’t seem to like her at all. For now…she would just follow
along.
