MEMORIES

chandelier

Crystal chandelier of mine.
I love your sparkle and shine.
You bring back memories long gone
when life hadn’t been so far gone.
Remember the parties we used to host?
Fancy guests arriving from coast to coast.
Music and laughter were the rules of the day.
But now all that is left are the bills to pay.

A SHADOW IN THE WIND

The castle sits in the woods,
its walls filled with memories.
Sounds of laughter and music
float in the still air.
Whisps of smoke hover
between the trees.
A soft shadow in the wind
settles beside me.
A tap on my shoulder.
A sigh in my ear.
I know who it is.
Goodbye, my love.
We’ll be together again soon.

THE CARNIVAL

THE CARNIVAL OF NIGHTMARES
I open my eyes
and to my surprise,
I’m at a carnival.
I’m chased into a tent.
My reflections surround me
on all sides.
I touch a mirror.
My hand flows through,
my body soon follows.
I’m in a dark basement.
The floor begins...

I open my eyes
and to my surprise,
I’m at a carnival.
I’m chased into a tent.
My reflections surround me
on all sides.
I touch a mirror.
My hand flows through,
my body soon follows.
I’m in a dark basement.
The floor begins to turn.
I hear laughter,
“I’m back.”

A PICTURE OF LIFE

It’s Never Too Late To Learn ðŸ™‚

A picture of life inside.
A window so hard to find
Of laughter and love
Would fit like a glove.
Soft music I can hear.
I want to be right there
With the people having fun
Lit up orange like the sun.

ENTER THE ZONE

Enter the zone
where tourists party,
champagne flows
And so does the blood.

AFTER THE RAIN

Source:

After The Rain
The streets will be sparkling clean.
The sun will shine.
Kids play ball.
Bicycles ride by.
Couples walk hand in hand.
The air sweet with laughter from
the diners at the sidewalk cafe.
A dog sleeps in the shadows.
A new day.
Sparkling clean.

A DOOR

A door among many others.
A family like all the others.
Eating at the dinner table.
Drinking wine.
Laughing.
But something is off.
The wine is blood.
The dessert are fingers.
A family not like the others.

STEAL THE NIGHT AWAY

Source:

CRYSTAL LIGHTS
A ceiling filled with sparkling lights,
a rainbow of color,
spreading fire through the ballroom.
Dancers swirl to the music.
Laughter filled to the brim.
Voices rise in tempo.
Faster and faster they twirl.
The night creeps in,
stealing the light,
stealing their lives.
Dance the night away.

THE INN

I hear voices from inside.
Laughter and cheering.
Clinking of glasses.
Sailing forth on
the silence of the night.
I hasten my steps.
I open the heavy door
and peer inside.
An empty room faces me.
No one in sight.
I step inside.
I can hear the voices.
The laughter.
I squint through the darkness.
A light shines on the tables,
where figures are drinking.
Transparent forms of people,
who once inhabited this inn.
They will laugh and be merry
until the end of time.
I raise my glass to them.

THE MIND’S EYE

The mind’s eye.
What can you see in a person’s eyes?
Can you see a glimpse of their emotions?
Maybe a little sadness with
a drop of anger thrown in.
What about happiness
and a sparkle of laughter?
Eyes are portals to our souls.
They accurately reveal
who we really are.
We can hide in our words
and facial expressions,
but we can’t hide our eyes.
Liars are said to look to the left
as they recount their false tales.
So the next time you’re speaking
with someone,
check their eyes.
See if their eyes
match their words.
I bet they won’t.
