Goodbye to Oasis

THE DEAD GAME – Goodbye to Oasis
Waves crashing to shore.
I can’t take much more.
Water hitting my face.
I can’t keep this fast pace.
Creatures at my back.
My world turns to black.
Fear fills me with dread.
It’s the walking dead.
I flee the streets of town,
Sidewalks a muddy brown.
The horrors follow me,
Nowhere safe left for me.
I can see the church’s tower.
It used to be the town’s power.
Now it stands defeated and dark.
I must cut through the shadowed park.
What future is there for this town?
Everything is upside down.
The Dead have come for us at last.
We will soon be part of the past.
THE DEAD GAME

THE SEA OF MANY COLORS

I drift alone in my boat
On the sea of many colors.
A mirror to the pastel sky,
To what resides so high.
The moon peeking from above,
Caressing me like a soft glove.
As I drift along in my boat
On the sea of many colors.

HOT WAX

Michail Satarov, Towards the Light.

The candle flickers.
It melts.
Dripping wax.
A pathway of heat
For The Dead to follow.
As they reach up
From hell below.
Rising stronger.
Hotter.
Deadlier.

FILL THE PAGES

FILL THE PAGES

Fill the pages of our lives
with words and stories.
Leave no blank pages.
Fill them with people and events.
Stories to tell our children.
Words to light our journeys.
We need to stand in the light.
Enjoy life to its fullest.
It is our right to fill in the pages.

DROWNING

Source:

I’m lost,
Drowning in despair,
Falling deeper into sorrow.
I want to let go,
And sink to the bottom,
My head submerged.
With no fight left in me,
No will to go on,
The darkness will take me.
Into its arms,
I willingly go.
I’m ready to surrender
To the everlasting void.

THE LIGHT FROM WITHIN

THE LIGHT FROM WITHIN
A force of nature.
Part the purple leaves,
and you’ll see it.
The orange glow.
The life force that shimmers within,
Transcending time and space.
The eternity of nature.

LET IT BLOOM

LET IT BLOOM
Watch the rose bloom.
It’s not too soon.
The lovely smell.
It rings my bell.
The pink color.
Like no other.
Face to the sun.
Ready for fun.
Velvet to the touch.
I love it so much.
I’m ready for spring.
To hear the birds sing.
I’m eager for the first bloom.
Definitely not too soon.
Let it bloom.

MISSING YOU

I miss you,
dear brother.
So many years
have passed
without you.
Without you to
share my adventures,
my happiness,
my sorrows.
Life has been lackluster
without you.
It’s been missing a
vital ingredient.
It’s been missing you.

LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL

Life is beautiful.
Take a breath
And look around.
There’s beauty everywhere.
In every flower.
In each blade of grass.
In each and every insect.
Beauty all around us
And in us.
See the beauty.
Take in the beauty.
Appreciate the beauty.

A SECRET PLACE

A secret place
To call your own.
To think or
Perhaps to dream.
Of better times.
Of a better life.
A place to escape
From the darkness
Of your mind.

LOST IN THE RAIN

Lost in the rain.
Beaten down.
Alone.
Drifting.
Tired.
Wet.
Ready to give up.
On life.
On the world.
Curled up in a ball.
Ready for my last breath.
Then the unexpected happens.
The sun comes out.
The birds begin to chirp.
A wet breeze hits my face.
I look up into the sun.
I don’t feel alone anymore.
I feel alive.
I’m happy I waited.
Waited for time to pass.
For time to heal old wounds.
I’m ready to face the day.

DARKNESS DESCENDS

Darkness descends this night.
Slithering through the grass,
It prepares for the fight.
A fight to the death for some,
For others a fight for what’s right.
The town waits with bated breath,
The sides position for the fight.
The evil one leads the way,
A greater force held at bay.
He walks into the clearing,
Soon others will join the fray.
He has come for me this night,
A shadowy form flits by.
It takes on his dreaded form,
Scooping me up to the sky.
We fly high above it all,
Rooftops passing in a rush.
I soon find myself falling
And landing in the thick brush.
I wake up in my own bed,
Happy I’m alive and free.
I fear for the dreaded night
When Wolf does come for me.

A SNOWFLAKE

A snowflake.
Each one is different.
Unique.
Created by nature.
For us.
This snowflake is
a gift for me
from someone
who is unique
in her own way.
My daughter.
The perfect gift.
Thank you.

THE CANDLES ON THESE WALLS

The candles on these walls
throw shadows down the halls.
Shadows that float in the air,
horrors that I cannot bear.
Soft sighs follow in their wake,
my insides begin to quake.
Gargoyles stare at us from above,
I’m thrust forward by a hard shove.
Revolving rooms lead us through a maze.
I follow along, lost in a daze.
I ask, “How do we get out of here?”
My hands covering my face in fear.
Am I standing in a flood?
I look down at all the blood.
It flows from the indoor pool.
As you know I’m not a fool.
I’m out of here as quick as can be.
There’s nothing else I want to see.
