A DARK DESTINY

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

HEAR THEM ROAR

Tigers pace in their cages,
Waiting to be set free.
Animals fill the basement.
An awful sight to see.

Leashes jangle against bars.
Metal against metal rings loud.
As the gates slowly lift open,
Pointy teeth glisten without sound.

This cannot be happening.
This cannot be so.
No way are there tigers
in the basement below.

WELCOME

Source:
WELCOME
Candles climb the stairs.
Sentries of the night.
We’re invited to a party.
Without a host.
More candles line the hallway.
Their lights beckon.
Empty rooms greet our hesitant steps.
An open door leads to darkness.
Stairs leading down.
The door slams behind us.
THE DEAD GAME has begun.

ECHO

THE STAIRCASE
I close my eyes to sleep,
and what do I see?
The staircase from my past.
The stairs from my
elementary school.
I can hear children’s voices
as they run up the stairs to classes.
I can hear their shouts
as they run down to the basement...

THE STAIRCASE
I close my eyes to sleep,
and what do I see?
The staircase from my past.
The stairs from my
elementary school.
I can hear voices
as the children run up the stairs.
to their classes.
I can hear their shouts
as they run down
to the basement for lunch.
I can’t see their faces.
I only hear their voices.
All I can see is the empty staircase.
The lone echo of my childhood.

MY BEATING HEART

blackoutraven Kingdom Hearts
BE STILL MY BEATING HEART
Can you feel your heart beating?
Is it beating too fast?
Do you feel trapped?
That is because you are.
You’re standing in a pool of water,
in the basement of End House,
wearing your party...

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART
Can you feel your heart beating?
Is it beating too fast?
Do you feel trapped?
That is because you are.
You’re standing in a pool of water,
in the basement of End House,
wearing your party clothes.
There is a party,
but no host or guests.
The door behind you locks shut.
The only way is forward,
through the falling cages
with their sharp edges,
ready to ensnare their next victim.
Circular saws begin to descend,
looking for heads to slice off.
Run!
Run for your life!
The owner of End House takes no prisoners.

DEADLY GAMES

Light the candles.
Follow me through
the empty corridors.
Past dark rooms.
Down a long flight of stairs.
To the dungeons below.
Where shadows await us.
Waiting for company.
To wile away their empty hours.
Perhaps a game or two for us to play.
A game...

Light the candles.
Follow me through
the empty corridors,
Past dark rooms,
Down a long flight of stairs
To the dungeons below,
Where shadows await us.
A pool of water appears.
Cages descend from above,
Pointy edges facing down.
Circular saws soon follow.
What kind of hell are we in?
Come closer to find out.
The Dead love to play.

WAITING FOR YOU

Welcome to End House.
All may enter.
The house is dark,
but we are waiting for you.
Follow the candles down the dark
hallway and take the stairs to the basement.
Surprises are in store for you.
Would you like some wild animals or
a pit into nothingness?
We have that and much more.
THE DEAD love their games.

DOWN

LOOK OUT BELOW
The stairs are slippery.
The lights flicker.
All goes dark.
The door slams shut.
We run to check it.
It’s locked.
No place to go but down,
down to the basement
of the deserted house.
Waves hit the house.
Is that why the basement floor is wet?
A creaking noise comes from above.
Cages descend.
Circular saws soon follow.
THE DEAD GAME has begun.

THE STAIRCASE

THE STAIRCASE
Follow the gargoyles to their master.
Follow the staircase to its source.
Take me down under
To the darkness in us all.

Beneath End House lies the answers
To questions asked from times gone by.
The unearthly dungeons and mazes
Will lead our way through hell and beyond.

I know others have gone before me
To the place deep in the earth.
The door will open for me
And no other before or after.

Hell has unleashed its prized possessions
To torment the innocent and needy.
Even with their human bodies
They cannot hide forever from my wrath.

OUR GAMES HAVE JUST BEGUN

There’s no place to go but down.
Down to the basement of End House.
The deserted house overlooking

the crashing waves of the Atlantic Ocean.
You can hear the waves hitting the house.
The basement floor is wet.
Are the ocean waters entering the house?
Or are we in for more surprises?
What is that sound?
Creaking noises are coming from above.
Huge cages are descending.
Circular saws soon follow.
What do we do now?

LOST IN END HOUSE

blackoutraven:

Lost in End House

We've come for a party.
But no one is here to greet us.
The candles have led us to a door.
A door down to the basement.
A door that has locked behind us.
We're trapped.

Circular saws and pointy cages

are descending from the basement ceiling.
The floor is filling up with water.
Where are our friends?

Are they facing similar threats upstairs?

I can feel the cold wrapping around me.
The darkness is thick and heavy.
The water is reaching my knees.
Two of my friends have made it across.
Will I make it through the saws and cages?
