BE STILL MY BEATING HEART

BE STILL MY BEATING HEART

Can you feel your heart beating?
Is it beating too fast?
Do you feel trapped?
That is because you are.
You’re standing in water
in the basement of End House,
wearing your party clothes.
There is a party
but no host or guests.
The door behind you locks.
The only way is forward
through the falling cages
and circular saws,
swinging over the dark water.
Run.
Run for your life.
The owner of End House takes no prisoners.

A DARK DESTINY

OPEN THE DOOR

“Should we knock on the door?
Is the house deserted?
Where is the party?”
They knock.
They open the door
and enter.
This was their first mistake.

WELCOME TO THE PARTY

flickering candles
Follow the candles
WELCOME TO THE PARTY

Candles along the stairs,
Keepers of the dark night.
We’ve come for the party
With no one else in sight.

More candles down the hall,
Their eerie lights flicker.
Empty rooms greet us as
We begin to bicker.

The basement door stands open.
We argue and make a fuss.
We agree to take the stairs
As the door slams behind us.

THE DEAD GAME has begun.

NO PARTY TO BE HAD

No party to be had.
No host standing welcome.
A meal not to be eaten.
A deadly scene is revealed.
A bloody horror is released.
Guests flee for their lives.
Some are still trapped inside.
No party to be had.
Only The Dead to be unleashed.

Being lost in the dark.

More traps.
More illusions.

Down the stairs we go,
down to the dark basement.
What happened here 5 years ago?
A freak storm is what happened.
The innocent family  disappeared
and were never heard from again.
Now we are locked in the End House basement.
Water reaching our knees.
We’ve already made it through
swinging traps and circular saws.
Three closed doors stand before us.
We’ve lived through the horrors
behind the first two doors.
Door number 3 is still waiting.
We walk in.
It’s dark.
Wild animals pace back and forth
in metal cages on the walls.
Mike walks in first,
his eyes roaming the room.
He turns around.
The animals are free.
They are moving closer.
His heart beats faster.
He can feel the animals
breathing down his neck.
He hears David calling out that
he’s found another door.
We are running down the stairs to the beach.
Flying creatures swipe at us.
We stare down at the sharp rocks…
THE DEAD GAME has begun.
