WINDOWS TO THE WORLD

WINDOWS TO THE WORLD

WINDOWS TO THE WORLD
Eyes are windows to the world. What lies beneath someone’s eyes? What is he or she thinking? Is he laughing at you or with you? Sometimes you never know.

Man vs. Nature

I love this picture. It shows technology—our homes and electronics—in the middle of a field of flowers and wild mushrooms. The field would look prettier and much more peaceful without the house and people marring the scenery. Life is becoming too crowded with stuff.

WHAT SHOULD WE BE THANKFUL FOR?

WHAT SHOULD WE BE THANKFUL FOR THIS HOLIDAY SEASON?
We should be thankful for the trees shedding their leaves, covering the earth with a blanket of colors. The beautiful sky at night shining bright.  The snow casting a white glow on everything. But definitely not the traffic  jams.

BEAUTY UNFOLDING

BEAUTY UNFOLDING
What is more beautiful than a budding flower? A flower that has reached its full maturity, its petals openly proclaiming its perfection to the world.
Human beings—at their maturity—have also reached their full potential. Unfortunately, mature human beings are not appreciated as well as their rose counterparts.

NATURAL BEAUTY

Nature is beautiful on its own without our help.

AM I REALLY READY FOR THE SNOW? SO COLD...

READY FOR THE SNOW?
After watching the snow fall, I realize that I’m not so ready. I have to dig out the boots and gloves. Some of us have to dig our driveways. At least it looks pretty and white.

The Closed Front Door

What do doors signify to us? A closed door can indicate no entry or that no one is home. On the other hand, an open door can be beckoning for you to enter, usually at your own risk. By having a door on the front cover of a book helps to create a specific aura for this book.

My book, The Dead Game, reveals a closed door with smokey shapes curling around it. This door indicates that the house isn't waiting for guests or interested in any visitors. In this case, it would be wiser to stay away. Run far if you can.

Without heeding the warnings, the characters enter the deserted house to search for the players of the evil game. The house appears empty. No one is there to meet them besides empty rooms, dead bodies, traps, and cages hanging from the basement ceiling ready to ensnare them.
The red door on The Dead Game cover has warned readers that End House must be entered with care since no one is welcome.  The residents disregard the closed front door and the unwelcome silence. They enter a house full of traps and secret passageways. Only some of their group make it out alive.

What would you do if you were faced with a closed door to an eerie deserted house?  Would you turn around and run? Sounds like a good idea.

Unfortunately, the young residents of Oasis didn't run but stepped through the doorway into a deserted house with powers of its own. But who was running this house? Humans or vampires? Or maybe it's computerized. They didn't have long to wait before the house turned on them, causing them to flee for their lives through revolving rooms and traps.
Who escapes? Who is lost to the house? The residents are trapped in a malicious game that they must fight to the bitter end.

Ready For Old Man Winter?

Who Is Ready For Old Man Winter?
We have to put ourselves in the right state of mind. We have to be prepared. Think of the holidays and snow bells. And presents—lots of presents. Now I’m prepared.
Falling snow is pure and white. It covers the earth with a promise of a new beginning. We all like new beginnings.

EMBRACE THE UNKNOWN

thedeadgameblog:

The scenery is beautiful but what is hiding beneath the flowing water? Is someone hiding in the bushes ready to pounce on an innocent hiker?
It is weird how my mind works—constantly looking for dangers and hidden stories. In my book, I can create my own villains and innocents. This way I can control the story and the outcome.
Enjoy a book and let your mind wander beyond the ‘here and now’ to embrace the unknown.

A Perfect Place To Be Alone

If I could find this place, I would lay back and close my eyes. Imagine the scope of stories I could create in my mind. Maybe a romance or a murder mystery. We all need our own private place where we could reflect. I just want mine to be inside a snow globe.

Life Placed in Proper Perspective

Water has always been soothing to me. I can sit for hours and watch water flow down a stream or pond. My problems feel less important and some even begin to sound silly. Life must be into perspective. We must stop and reorganize our priorities—always in favor of the needy and helpless. God reminds us of this by the sheer majesty of nature. We are only a small part of the universe that continues on with or without us.

The Best Vacation

JUST IMAGINE
Where do I want to be? In a house at the edge of a cliff? In a private lagoon? Or maybe on a beach with pink sand?
Since my vacations never turn out as good as my imagined ones, maybe I should search for the best pictures and let my imagination run wild.
The best thing is that you can never be disappointed and you can control who are your companions.
See you in my dreams!

BE DIFFERENT

BE DIFFERENT
Embrace your passions. Don’t be afraid to speak your mind. No one is better than you; therefore, no one has the right to criticize you or your beliefs. Be unique. Be different. Be proud.

LIGHT VS. DARK

The Light vs. The Dark
Isn’t that what life is all about? How we choose to live life? We can live in the sun or the darkness. We can be optimistic or pessimistic about the hand dealt to us.
Too often, I choose darkness. I have to force myself to accept what life has in store for me and just try harder to make it better. And to be a better person. When that happens, all else falls into place.

To Be Alone

Do you sometimes feel that you need time alone to clear your mind? If you can’t climb to the top of a mountain, then close your eyes and envision that you are there. Take a deep breath and look at the open space around you. No buildings, no cars, and no people. Everything is now placed in perspective. We are just small specks on earth that has a beauty of its own without our help. No matter what we do, life still goes on.

Nothing can be more beautiful than what nature has already created on its own.
What Inspires You?
Does nature bring you joy? Do you love art or literature? What about the sleek lines of architecture? Or is writing your passion? Share it with others. Be generous with your loves and passions.ImageImageImage

                                                                   Be Happy
Art can lift your spirits. A vibrant mix of colors can make you feel happier, while a dark palate can just as easily lower your expectations of life. If you are sensitive to your surroundings, for example the sun setting earlier and bringing darkness sooner to the earth, then you should surround yourself with vibrant colors. It also helps to have cheerful people around at work or at play. We are at our best when we feel good about ourselves. So keep your spirits up. And remember spring is not that far away.

Bring Your Dreams To Life

When you close your eyes, what do you dream about? Do you dream of  a pool in the middle of an oasis of trees? Do you dream of a beach in a cave with its own window to the sky? Or maybe you dream of a beautiful winding road that can take you anywhere you might imagine? Some of us may dream of deserted islands or original artwork in unique settings.
Whatever your dreams are, they are real to you. And they can be real to the world if you write about them. Just think about it. Your special dreams can be shared and savored by everyone.
 That is my dream.

The Perfect Place For Dreams

I’d close my eyes and feel the motion of the water. Feel the force of the water pushing against the clear walls enclosing my safe cocoon. The pressure is increasing, the water is pressing harder against the clear walls. Oh no! Claustrophobia! I just ruined my own dream. Not to worry, there are always more. Dreams are unlimited!

Why can’t all our dreams end with a castle? Just close your eyes and picture a castle waiting for you in the water. All you have to do is follow the path through the blue, green water.
That feels good. I feel like I was there. I was but in my mind.

The Dead Game by Susanne Leist. A new supernatural thriller. Introducing The Dead.

The town of Oasis is paradise--that is until the sun sets. Watch out for the shadows that roam the picturesque streets at night.
Looks can be deceiving--like roses with sharp thorns.
