LIVING

LIVING

Seek and you shall find

what the mind may hide.

Follow the soft sighs

to where the bird flies.

Dig deeper into your dream

as you float with the stream.

Time will never end

nor will it ever bend.

Enjoy the here and now

as I give my last bow.

THE VICTIM

I step from the restaurant
into a dark alley.
My footsteps click on the cobblestones.
Footsteps echo behind me.
Lights glimmer ahead.
I hurry to the beacons.
Footsteps ring closer.
I run.
The footsteps follow.
People walk the avenue.
Stores twinkle their lights.
A voice calls, “Miss,
You forgot your charge card.”
I freeze and turn.
The waitress hands me the card.
I smile.
She disappears in the darkness.
I swallow.
Another night in the city.

FOOTSTEPS IN THE SNOW

The brisk nip in the air,
as we trudge in the snow.
We feel an icy wind on our faces
as it pummels our bodies.
Someone else has done it.
We follow the footsteps,
a frozen trail in the snow.

MEOW!

Source:imgfave-chat

I’m being followed
through the woods
and into town.
Help me!
I hear them
but can’t see them.
Quiet as the night.
Silence is their prayer.
Meow!

FOOTSTEPS IN THE SNOW

Lines of footsteps.
Where do they lead?
Where are the people going?
Are their lives happy?
Are they walking alone
or in groups?
What can you see in a footstep?
Follow a set and find out.

FOLLOW THE LIGHTS

halftimeprincess: Art by Augusto Peixoto . IrondoomDesign DEVIANTART

FOLLOW THE LIGHTS

Follow the lights to the house of glass.
There will be much splendor in the grass.
Lights in the trees as far as the eye could see.
A more decadent event there could not be.
Champagne will be flowing until the wee hours.
Come with me and dance among the pretty flowers.
This room full of guests gives me a chill.
Maybe we should leave I’ve had my fill.
Eyes are following us in the room.
They will be upon us all too soon.
The guests are not what they appear.
Beneath they are just bones and hair.

A ROAD TRIP

I’m taking a road trip.
I shouldn’t have let that slip.
I’m trying to get away
To find a new place to stay.
Where troubles are left behind.
A place that no one can find.
Please don’t follow me.
I yearn to roam free.
Up ahead is a street light.
It’s the only one in sight.
I slow down and roll to a stop.
My car door opens with a pop.
My troubles line up on the road,
Waiting for me to stop, I’m told.
I can’t escape them this time
And not from this awful rhyme.
At the next chance, I get,
I’m off, ready and set.

FOLLOW THE CURIOUS

Cobblestone by cemetery

FOLLOW THE CURIOUS

The cobblestones glisten
under the moonlight.
Gravestones peek out
in the heavy fog.
Moans sweep the winds
that rustle the lifeless trees.
A gate stands open
to welcome the curious.
Footsteps draw closer
to my hiding place.
A cloaked figure enters
the home of the dead.
It disappears inside a mausoleum
with a lone angel standing guard.
Goosebumps riddle my body
as I inch forward from my spot.
I can’t stand the suspense.
I must find the meeting place
of the dead and gone.

JOY

Joy

JOY
Joy can be found in the footsteps.
A romp through the cold water.
Follow me through the sand.
Let our footsteps trail a path
For others to find their way.

IMAGINE

Follow the yellow lines.
They take you to the future.
To where no man has trod.
To pink mountain tops.
To snow-filled valleys.
To fluffy white clouds.
To wherever your imagination
Wants to take you.
Happy trails!

FAR FROM THE BEATEN PATH

The road above or below?
I can take the straight and narrow.
Follow where others have already gone.
I can walk a different pathway.
Far from the beaten path.
Where danger might be lurking.
Darkness might reign free.
I’m ready.
Let’s go!
