WELCOME THE NIGHT

Welcome the night
And its good friend, the moon.
Do not take flight
From the man in the moon.

Let the moon take over

From the sun’s bright reign.
Let the sun take cover
Without severe pain.

A thick blanket will fall,

Giving the earth security.
Darkness will cover all
With its fine grace and purity.

For the sun, no need to pine.

Don’t waste precious time mourning.

The stars will twinkle and shine.

The sun will rise come morning.

It will return tomorrow morning
With no need for any worrying.

NIGHT’S FACE

The moon shows its head.
It’s past time for bed.
It casts a yellow glow.
I can hear the winds blow.
Time for me to go inside.
There must be places to hide.
Until the morning light.
When the sun burns so bright.

CREATURE OF THE NIGHT

Coyote(Canis latrans), Nevada. [2048×1931]

He comes in the dark night.
Before the morning light.
Grey is the color of his large eyes.
He can see as far as the crow flies.
He is a gorgeous creature of the night.
He is much too scary upon first sight.
As I courageously draw near.
He backs away to disappear.

A LIGHT

A LIGHT

A light shines bright.
It shines all night.
Even into the morning hours.
It shines for you.
It shines true.
Come back to me.
Lost ship of the night.
I pray every night.
For those lost at sea.
For me.
And for you.

PLAY THE MUSIC

PLAY THE MUSIC

Play the music.
Play as fast as you can.
Pound on the keys.
Dance with the violin.
Beat on the drums.
Keep dancing.
Keep playing.
Faster and faster.
Before it’s too late.
Before death comes.
Knocking at your door.
It will come tonight.
It will wait for quiet.
So keep playing.
Keep dancing.
Until the sun rises.
And the night is gone.
And so is death.

WINTER SUN

sundxwn: Gullfoss in Winter Sun by Peter Negatsch

The winter sun is rising.
Releasing its stored energy.
Cracking the frozen ground wide open.
Creating a dark hole.
A hole reaching down
into emptiness.
No lights.
No sounds.
Only nothingness.
The sun feels good
on my face.
The snow feels less cold
and forbidding.
The light is calling me
away from the darkness.
I will listen to it.
I will go toward it.
Away from the gaping hole
and empty dreams.
To the light of a new day.
Good morning world.

A SNOW-FILLED FANTASY

tvoom:
The Path
Follow the path.
To a snow-filled fantasy.
To the family of ducks floating
together in perfect harmony.
To the sun rising for a new day.
To the wispy clouds passing by.
To the chill winds of the morning.
To the soft snow underfoot.
To the magic of snowy mornings.
Breathe in the brisk air and enjoy.

FRESH AND NEW

flowersgardenlove:
Fresh and new.
Fragrant and pretty.
Ready to bud.
Slightly green.
But eager.
Eager for the sunshine.
Eager for the morning dew.
Eager for life.
The perfect way to be.
Good morning pretty flowers.

WAIT FOR THE NIGHT

Wilting.
Dry.
Strength taken
by the hot sun.
Need moisture.
Need shade.
Wait for the night.
Wait for the moon
to soothe your pain.
Dew in the morning to
to quench your thirst.
Be ready for a new day.

KING OF THE WORLD

Hello!
I’m king of the world.
A good day to all!
Life is beautiful
and so am I.

HOPE SPRINGS ANEW

nichvlas:

Some days feel dark and stormy
with no hope and no end in sight.
The next day, the sun rises
and shows us its cheerful face.
Our hope is renewed like the new day.
We must remember that the
sun rises each and every morning.
And we must rise with it—with hope
in our hearts for new beginnings.
