DESERT LANDSCAPE

Full of worries and contradictions,
it blasts away any chance of peace.
Thoughts jumbled in cobwebs,
lining halls of utter despair.
Bells ring along curved walls,
warnings to take care.
One hole is filled
as another emerges.
A shovel can’t do the job,
won’t save me from my pride.
Sleep, be my savior,
refresh my state of mind.
Bring hope to this desert landscape,
full of worries and contradictions.

Atelophobia

It has a name.
Atelophobia.
Why do some of us
strive for perfectionism?
Were we born with this,
or taught to behave this way?
It forces unattainable
and unrealistic goals
upon us.
Once these goals aren’t reached,
we fall down far,
some into depression.
We should try to be our best,
our best within our capabilities,
and not some else’s version of perfect.
Our own attainable goals
will bring us contentment
and happiness.

WINTER SUN

sundxwn: Gullfoss in Winter Sun by Peter Negatsch

The winter sun is rising.
Releasing its stored energy.
Cracking the frozen ground wide open.
Creating a dark hole.
A hole reaching down
into emptiness.
No lights.
No sounds.
Only nothingness.
The sun feels good
on my face.
The snow feels less cold
and forbidding.
The light is calling me
away from the darkness.
I will listen to it.
I will go toward it.
Away from the gaping hole
and empty dreams.
To the light of a new day.
Good morning world.

HOLD LIGHT CLOSE TO OUR HEARTS

Wouldn’t it be nice if we could hold light in our hands?
Hold our hopes and dreams close to us.
Let the darkness fade away,
but keep the light close to our hearts.
We can try.
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could hold light in our hands?
Hold our hopes and dreams close to us.
Let the darkness fade away,
but keep the light close to our hearts.
We can try.

NEVER ALONE

NEVER ALONE

When you are sleeping, do you sometimes feel a presence beside you? Do you dream of people you have lost? Do you wish that you can see those people one more time? In your dreams, you are not alone. They are with you in your dreams and in your thoughts.

When you are sleeping, do you sometimes
feel a presence beside you?
Do you dream of people you have lost?
Do you wish that you can see those
people one more time?
In your dreams, you are not alone.
They are with you in your dreams
and in your thoughts.

  • You look into the mirror and see your reflection staring back at you. What do you feel? Do you feel alone? Look again. You are not alone— you have the most wonderful person in the world with you. You have yourself—your best friend. One who knows your innermost thoughts, but still stays with you. You are never alone.

You look into the mirror and see
your reflection staring back at you.
What do you feel?
Do you feel alone?
Look again.
You are not alone—
you have the most wonderful
person in the world with you.
You have yourself—your best friend.
One who knows your innermost thoughts,
but still stays with you.
You are never alone.
