THE CRACK

Strong against obstacles.

To tackle the problems.

And then comes the crack.

The one obstacle we can’t stop.

It can break us apart .

Or make us stronger.

IT CRUMBLES

The mask has cracked.

I can’t keep it together.

A fight to be perfect.

A battle to be accepted.

The mask has cracked.

Game over.

THEN COMES THE CRACK

Ready to tackle all problems.

And then comes the crack.

The one obstacle we can’t stop.

The one thing we have no control over.

It can break us apart into pieces.

It can weaken our hold onto life.

Or it can make us stronger still.

We all hit that obstacle at one point in our lives.

The winter sun is rising.
Releasing its stored energy.
Cracking the frozen ground wide open.
Creating a dark hole.
A hole reaching down
into emptiness.
No lights.
No sounds.
Only nothingness.
The sun feels good
on my face.
The snow feels less cold
and forbidding.
The light is calling me
away from the darkness.
I will listen to it.
I will go toward it.
Away from the gaping hole
and empty dreams.
To the light of a new day.
