to whom I don’t know.

I quicken my pace

to get out of this place.

Under the trees, I run

to a place in the sun.

I was at the beach,

within close reach.

But now I race in fear

that I’ll be found here.

“Take me out of here,”

I run fast in fear.

TRAPPED

TRAPPED

Trapped inside myself.
Trapped with my insecurities.
Afraid to break free.
Free to try new things.
To be a different person.
Can it be done?
It will be painful.
Breaking the glass walls around me.
Too much broken glass and blood.
But I can do it.
I will do it.
Goodbye to doubters.
Hello to new me.

HELLO MOON

What if the moon fell from the sky?
One night, it decided to desert the sky.
Leave the dark sky by itself,
with only the stars for company.
Who would bring light to the earth?
Light needed in the dark of night.
Light needed to brighten streets and alleyways.
Light for those saddened by the night.
Light taken for granted.
But no more.
The moon would not be taken for granted.
It would be missed and yearned for.
Upon its return the next night,
it would be welcomed with joy.
Hello moon.
Welcome back.
