TO BE ME

Archan Nair – New Illustration titled “ Hue “

I feel lost and confused.

I feel dizzy and unsure.

My mind is pulled

in opposite directions.

What do I want?

I want to create.

Throw paint on a wall.

Write books.

Compose poetry.

I want to create.

COLORS OF LOVE

Green, blue, and pink.
Red for the sparkling eyes.
A little orange at its toes.
A blue belly for laughs.
A green body for hiding.
Colors of the rainbow.
Colors of love.
Colors of life.

WHAT DO YOU SEE?

WHAT DO YOU SEE?
The mind is complex.
It stores information.
It reasons.
It’s also creative.
I see a butterfly and its shadow.
What do you see?

PICTURE PERFECT

Perfect lines cast in the sand.
Left behind by waves
caressing the shore.
Temporary footsteps.
Like magic?
No, like nature.

LOST FACE

Garis Edelweiss (Indonesian, b. 1984, Pasuruan, Jawa Timur, Indonesia) – Maddah-Sarasvati, 2017  Drawings: Pencil on Paper

A picture is worth a thousand words.
What words does this picture inspire?
A woman whose face is lost,
To be replaced by bouncing balls.
What are we without our faces?
What will we have left to show the world?
The image brings forth feelings of confusion,
An imbalance created by the lack of face.
Our faces are needed to reveal our true selves.
Without them, we are useless like
balls forever bouncing by an unseen force.

MAGIC

Source:

It governs our lives.
It sets our course
On the paths, we follow.
Igniting our colors
And forming our creations.
Like words in a book
And brush strokes on an easel.
It gives us life
In multi-color.
What is it for you?

A PICTURE COMES TO LIFE

Please follow me
Through the colors.
Past shimmering glass
And stacks of crayons.
The blue glass mirrors
Puffy cotton balls.
Scraggly arms reach high
to the ball of fire.

Can you hear the drums?
Flight of winged creatures.
Soaring high above,
too close to the fire.

Come closer and see
What my minds has wrought.
A scene near and dear.
To my thoughts and dreams.

A PICTURE OF LIFE

It’s Never Too Late To Learn ðŸ™‚

A picture of life inside.
A window so hard to find
Of laughter and love
Would fit like a glove.
Soft music I can hear.
I want to be right there
With the people having fun
Lit up orange like the sun.

THE PICTURE

Art comes alive with the artist’s stroke.
It bounces from the white page
in alternating shades of the rainbow.
The green eyes entice and ensnare.
The fur flows and ebbs in blues and pink.
It has stepped out from the mere page
to come alive for me and you.

MAN VS. NATURE

Source:

Man takes over nature.
Then he must re-create it.
In his own format.
In his own fake way.
But never the same.
Never as good.

COLORS, LIGHTS, ACTION

COLORS, LIGHTS, ACTION
A more perfect picture there cannot be.
Bright colors as far as the eye could see.
Blue, yellow, red, orange, purple and green.
A frame is needed for this gorgeous scene.
If I could walk into this masterpiece,
I’d  be rejuvenated and at peace.

ONLY A PICTURE

Can a picture capture the ocean?
Can it reveal changing colors,
ripples of the waves,
reflections of the deep?
A mirror to the sky.
Hold the picture up high.
The image lies flat and stagnant,
missing the life and energy
of nature’s creations.

PICTURE PERFECT

Perfect lines cast in the sand.
Had they been made by man?
Or could the waves had made them
when they lapped upon the shore?
Bringing moisture to the hot sand.
Leaving behind their own
distinctive footsteps.
Footsteps that cannot be duplicated.
Temporary footsteps until the next day
when they appear again.
Like magic?
No, like nature.
