MY PATH SO NARROW

Translucent green
Source: duxuebing

I stroll through the fallen leaves,

a translucent green beneath my feet.

Red branches bring me shade,

protecting me from the harsh sun.

I walk alone through the silent forest,

no one to bring me pain or sorrow.

Alone is what I desire most

as I follow my path so narrow.

THE FALLEN

Sherbrooke Forest | By Penny Whetton

 THE FALLEN

Tree branches bend,
scarred by age.
Beaten by the storm,
many hit the ground
amid piles of leaves.
Without a proper burial,
no one mourns their loss.
The fallen won’t be forgotten
as replacements take root
in the shade of the tall trees.
Sunshine filters through the forest,
lighting the way for the future.

THE TREE

THE TREE
The tree appears dark and looming.
It could use some proper grooming.
I want to take a walk between its legs,
Growing tall from the ground like giant pegs.
By its rules, we must strictly abide.
Imagine the secrets it must hide.
Come walk with me in its deep shade.
Through the fallen leaves we will wade.
A canopy of leaves above our heads
As we fall asleep in our leafy beds.

PURPLE HAZE

Source:

As I walk slowly in a daze,
Surround me in a purple haze.
I could fall asleep in this tent.
The smell alone is heaven sent.
The scent of lilac is filling my head.
I need to find an appropriate bed.
I will just sit on this bench in the sun
And enjoy the lights of the setting sun.

TOWERING

Cover me with leaves.
Shade me with your glory.
Heights towering above.
A protective cocoon.

WAIT FOR THE NIGHT

Wilting.
Dry.
Strength taken
by the hot sun.
Need moisture.
Need shade.
Wait for the night.
Wait for the moon
to soothe your pain.
Dew in the morning to
to quench your thirst.
Be ready for a new day.

TAKE A JOURNEY WITH ME

TAKE A JOURNEY WITH ME

Take a journey with me.
Far away as can be.
Where the skies are as blue
As is the grass for you.
Where hope reigns blue
And dreams come true.
Where a tree grows bright
With a glowing light.
Stand under its gleaming shade
And your light will never fade.
Keep your spirits up high
And your face to the sky.
Take a journey with me.
Far away as can be.

DREAM A DREAM

elinka:

A small cabin perched on a green hill.
The closest house is on the nearby hill.
Quiet rules the day.
The sun shines bright and clear.
The wind ruffles the slope of green grass.
The lone tree beckons for someone to
sit beneath it.
To sit in its shade with a book in one hand
and a glass of lemonade in the other.
Come and join my dream.

INTO THE WOODS

atraversso:

Beautiful by Kevin Russ

The woods are mysterious.
Who knows what lurks inside
the dark shadows?
Are there spirits or ghosts?
Evil waiting to pounce on
unsuspecting victims?
Or maybe there’s just beauty
and warmth.
And maybe a deer or two.

A GARDEN OF FLOWERS

atraversso:
Come and explore my daydream with me.
We are in a garden full of flowers.
The birds are chirping.
The leaves are rustling in the trees
as a soft wind blows.
A stone staircase looms before us.
If we follow this staircase,
where do you think it would take us?
To another garden or to a quaint house?
Let me close my eyes.
I see a secluded garden with peach trees.
Beneath the shade of the trees,
sits a lone bench surrounded by red roses.
I sit down on the bench to enjoy the view.
Achoo!
I forgot it’s allergy season and I’m allergic to roses.
If you don’t like this ending, you can imagine
any ending you would like.
That’s the beauty of your imagination.
