OPEN THE DOOR

In the basement of End House,

you are faced with three doors.

What lies behind them?

Pick one.

The only limit is your imagination.

OPEN THE DOOR

“Should we knock on the door?
Is the house deserted?
Where is the party?”
They knock.
They open the door
and enter.
This was their first mistake.

MY STORY

All stories have an end.
This is mine.
I live behind this door.
No one visits.
As footsteps draw near,
I look out the peephole.
I never answer the bell.
I slink away into my dungeon
of lost hopes and dreams.
Neighbors stay away.
Family doesn’t...

Neighbors stay away.
My family doesn’t care.
Would you?

OPEN THE DOOR

A closed door.
It can open to many things.
It can lead to a garden of flowers.
It can also lead to unspeakable horrors.
What are you in the mood for?
Do you want pretty flowers,
or do you want to explore the unknown?
The choice is yours.

BEHIND THE DOOR

BEHIND THE DOOR
Lights.
Sounds.
Should I
turn the knob.
and open the door?
Others have done it.
They’ve returned safe.
Should I?
I could enter my dreams.
My fantasies.
The door beckons.
The noises become louder.
Is that blood creeping out?
It must be a trick.
The Dead love their games.

OUR IMAGINATION

Our imagination entices us.
It takes us to new places.
With our eyes closed,
We could explore the world.

Oceans to be crossed.
Far away places visited.
Mountains climbed.
Passions enjoyed.
A closed door stands before me,
Hiding its own secrets.
I will cross its threshold
With eyes wide open.
The door opens to flowers and sunshine.
Lounge chairs on the hot sand.
The sun shining on the ocean,
Revealing palettes of blues and greens.
A perfect paradise waits for me.
A bathing suit lies across a chair.
Time for a swim and a tan.
A beautiful escape.

A DOOR

A door.
A simple door.
Flowers in front.
A closed door.
Why are the flowers
blocking the entrance?
Is there a hidden society
tucked away inside?
Maybe a family
afraid of visitors.
You’ll never know,
Unless you knock.
Do you want to?
The truth might not be
as interesting
or as tantalizing.
Walk away.
Keep the mystery alive.

THE NIGHT

The night caters to our whims.
It caters to our deepest fears.
Our nightmares come alive.
They stalk us in our sleep.
They follow us back into our rooms.
To stalk us in the night.
They wait behind the closed door.
Should I open it?
Let them in?
Why not?
They are my closest friends.

PICK A DOOR

A door

You are trapped in the water-filled
basement of End House.
Three doors stand before you.
Will they offer a way out?
A way out of the madness
created by the absent host.
The water keeps filling.
The traps continue to fall.
The circular saws keep searching for heads.
Chopped-off heads to add to their collection.
Pick a door.
Any door.
What lies behind it?
You are only limited by your own imagination.

A CLOSED DOOR

A closed door.
What could be on the other side?
Should we knock?
Is the house deserted?
Is someone waiting inside?
Linda and her friends knock on the door.
It opens on its own.
No one is there to greet them.
A red carpeted staircase protected by gargoyles.
A long hallway lit by candles.
They step inside.
This is their first mistake.

OPEN THE DOOR

An open door invites.
An open door beckons to visitors.
Who can resist an open door?
Who doesn’t want to take a peek inside?
What treasures might be hidden on the other side?
Or what evil might be lying in wait for us?
Open the door and find out.
I know you want to.

An open door invites.
An open door beckons.
Who can resist it?
Who doesn’t want to take a peek?
What treasures might be hidden on the other side?
Or what evil might be lying in wait for us?
Open the door and find out.
I know you want to.

THE LIGHTHOUSE

THE LIGHTHOUSE

“Come back to me my sweet.
Take a break from the heat.
An afternoon in a cool retreat.
We could make our own special heat.”
The wood door rattles and creaks open wide.
I hesitate before I walk inside.
The small room is as dark as night.
I begin to tremble with fright.
Maybe I should leave this place.
The door slams shut in my face.
I hear the voice in the air
Telling me, “what fair is fair.”
I intruded on this secret room
And so I won’t be leaving too soon.

HAUNTED?

HAUNTED?

Is this a house to ignore?
But I want to see much more.
Eyes are staring at us.
Let us not make a fuss.
Let’s knock on that door.
Large one of the four.
The door is opening with a creak.
As if it is trying to speak.
“Please leave now before it is too late,”
A whisper in the wind tells of our fate.
My friends run away.
Why I cannot say.
I don’t want to be here alone.
The house is beginning to groan.
I must take my leave from such a place.
Forget the goodbyes in my haste.

A DOOR

A door.
A simple door.
A pot of flowers
sitting before it.
The number one beside it.
What does it mean?
Is the door closed off
from the outside?
No one is to enter.
Why?
Why are the flowers
blocking the way?
Is there a hidden society
tucked away inside?
Or maybe a family
afraid of visitors.
You’ll never know,
unless you knock on the door.
Do you really want to?
Do you want to find out,
or maybe keep it a secret?
The truth might not be
as interesting,
as tantalizing.
Walk away.
Keep the mystery alive.

OPEN THE DOOR

Open the door.
Step inside.
The darkness is beckoning you.
Calling you to walk in.
Welcome! Glad you’re here!
Follow the flickering candles.
They will lead you to untold pleasures.
Do you hear the music?
A party is waiting for you in the drawing room.
Don’t be afraid. Peek in.
Do you see the dancers?
Twirling around and around.
You can see through them? Can’t you?
That’s because they’re transparent.
An echo from the past.
Those who lived here before.
And now they inhabit the air.
Their spirits live in these dark rooms.
Now you can join them
and live here forever!
A story that can be told
just by looking at the closed door
and opening the door in your mind.

NO CLOSED DOORS FOR ME

A closed door just tempts
me to open it.
I’m always curious to see
what’s on the other side.
Close a door on me and
I’ll try to open it.
Now that’s clear to everyone,
please open that door.

Close a door on me and
I’ll try to open it.
Now that’s clear to everyone,

DEAD IN THE BASEMENT

You are in the basement of End House.
The door locks behind you.
There’s no way out.
You look down and find yourself standing in water.
Water that wasn’t there a minute ago.
From the ceiling, large cages begin to descend.
They have sharp edges, like knives, to better catch
their next victim.
You must dodge the cages to reach the other side.
Circular saws fall from above, looking for heads
to chop off.
You reach the far wall but find three closed doors.
What’s behind these doors?
