ALONE IN THE DARK

Source: slobbering

Who sits and waits in the darkness?
There is no movement in the blackness.
As still as a fox waiting to pounce,
No hint of a ruffle or a flounce.

A soft sigh can be heard in the air.
Are those slithering snakes in her hair?
Shadows shift through the circling dust
As the walls trickle with blood or rust.

The ghostly form stands tall to meet us.
She can be the hostess to greet us.
A deserted house this seems to be.
She hovers over us like a tree.

We stand alone in this bleak hall.
There won’t be dancing at this ball.
This was a silly lark.
Then the candles go dark.

Time to leave this creepy place.
We must quicken our snail’s pace.
But since this is a horror story,
We will not be leaving with glory.

THE OTHER SIDE

THE DEAD GAME SERIES Door

Open the door and peek inside.
I promise we have nothing to hide.
The sky is bluer on the other side.
The green grass is our finest point of pride.

DEADLY GAMES

horrorchic87:

Louise & her friends escaped End House.
But the deadly game was far from over.
She dashed across the beach,
mounds of sand hitting her face.
On the walkway,
branches swiped at her.
Main Street stood empty.
Silent.
Candles flickered in the park.
A wind propelled her
toward the lights.
Thrust into the gazebo by an unseen force,
Louise felt like a puppet on a string.
A noose wrapped around her neck.
She hung from the wooden beams.
Hooded creatures circled her.
The noose tugged tighter.
The world spun.
The shadows slowed.
They chanted in an unfamiliar language,
Their hoods casting their faces in shadows.
The winds turned wilder,
moaning in unison with the voices.
Louise recognized a face before she losing consciousness,
but it was too late for her or the town of Oasis.

A DEAD MAN’S DREAMS

Step inside.
A mansion is waiting.
It might appear deserted,
rundown and unused.
The inside tells
a different story.
Walk on marble floors
through rooms of delight.
Rooms of different eras,
reflecting a dead man’s dreams.
A man with no life or future,
who waits for the end of time.
A house fit for a prince
or a prince of darkness.

FRIDAY THE 13TH

1 Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is here.
There is no need to fear.
Step into the manor.
Ignore any banter.
The party is for you,
only a select few.
I have a secret to tell,
one involving an old spell.
A witch cast her spell.
Our lives went to hell.
Beneath End House, we were banished.
Please wait, I know you must be famished.
Listen to my tale.
The bread won’t turn stale.
Banished for years, we were.
Trapped in the earth by her.
We were freed by a priest,
accompanied by a beast.
We haven’t eaten for many years.
Do not bother to shed any tears.
Please step onto the food platters.
Our hunger is all that matters.

HOUSE OF HORRORS

A creepy room in
a house of horrors.
A maze of traps
and skeletons.
A house alive
with evil spirits.
Why did we come,
and how do we escape?

WELCOME TO END HOUSE

Welcome to End House.
Step inside.
The party is about to begin.
Let me show you the way.
Where is everyone, you ask?
They’re here.
Can’t you hear them?

CREEPY CREEPY SCARY

creepy creepy scary

Creepy, creepy, scary.
This can become hairy.
The house is haunted and dark.
I came on a simple lark.
But now that I’m here,
I’m frozen with fear.
A party is to be held for us all,
But to evil creatures, we might just fall.
Down to the basement we go,
This is silly even I know.
Saws are swinging up ahead,
Looking to chop off a head.
Traps are falling from the low ceiling.
My wet feet are losing their feeling.
We are standing in a pool.
And I feel like a big fool.
We should have gone when we had a chance.
The creatures will make us sing and dance.
The Dead have a morbid sense of humor,
Should have listened to every rumor.
Goodbye to one and all.
I see the bouncing ball.

THE HOUSE

The house sits alone.
Shutters hang broken.
Furniture upended.
Shattered pictures.
Shattered dreams.
Open the door.
Climb the battered staircase.
A house ravaged by a storm.
A savage storm that hit only this house.
I hear a creak on the stairs.
A sigh from within the walls.
A cry from the basement.
They’re back.

PRELUDE TO BOOK II – THE DEAD GAME SERIES

house in woods

Has End House returned to Oasis?
Our chanting had cast it to sea.

It can’t be back.

We can’t be under attack.

Silence fills the forest.
A cold breeze tickles my arms.
I follow the path through
a thick copse of trees.

The sky darkens.
A shadow looms in the distance.
I enter the clearing.
Seagulls cry and swoop low.

I halt by a deep hole.
The spot where End House had stood.
A hard shove
And I’m falling.

Laughter follows my descent.
I hit rock bottom.
A tunnel stretches before me.
Light at its end.
