GLISTENING

Glistening water so deep.
I see it in my half sleep.
Rays of white over it all.
Giving it a mighty pall.
What lives beyond the norm?
Something with a dark form.
It rises from the glowing wet.
It’s definitely not a pet.
With body so muscular and...

MY TRUE LOVE

A demon from hell.
Is this Wolf?
Who loved me so well.
My one evil love.

I miss him dearly.
My life in ruins.
You can see clearly
The evil inside.

I bow down my head.
I say a prayer.
He has made his bed.
For eternity.

OUR GAMES HAVE JUST BEGUN --- THE DEAD GAME --- PART 50

The winds rush forth with open arms,
Crushing me into a cave of sand.
Darkness rushes to seal me in,
Flashes of light retreating in defeat.

I try to hold onto the reds and yellows,
But they fade into the expanding darkness.
The sand cascades in swirls of beige,
Soft but firm it holds me captive.

My fingers dig into the packed waves,
Leaving evidence of my unhappy plight.
I try to climb the growing piles
That continue to rise in my mounting despair.

My eyes focus on the hole open to the sky,
Desperately seeking a way out.
I am held tight in this evil creation,
A force of nature and hell combined.

A sound slowly creeps in from the opening,
Gaining volume and force on its way down.
It's the sound of laughter and glee
From the creature who desires me most.

OUR GAMES HAVE JUST BEGUN --- THE DEAD GAME --- PART 45

Do my eyes deceive me?
Can this be true?
A creature is stalking me
Through the dark streets of town.

Eyes black as night.
Cries as soft as the wind.
Sharp claws tapping a sad melody.
It draws closer to me still.

The mansion's gates yawn open for me.
My feet leave tracks in the mud.
Handprints where I fall in my haste.
Salty tears on the rocks.

The mansion waits in its dark glory
For the innocent and weary.
It sheds its shell like a caterpillar,
But no butterfly does it become.

The creature gains ground.
Stalking in its feline way.
Whiskers in the wind,
Leading its way to me.

One last stumble for me.
My knees graze the rocks.
My fingers climb the steps,
Digging deep into the dirt.

I turn one last time.
The dark one stands up.
Becoming taller and straighter.
On two feet it stands tall.

Its yellow eyes glimmer black.
No whiskers to follow my scent.
White skin for black fur.
Laughter falls from its lips.

He has come for me one last time.
He walks on muscled legs.
Sure and strong is his gait.
For no more does he crawl.

"Come to me!" he says.
"No more games for us to play."
His hand reaches for mine
As I wait for this game to end.

"I refuse to belong to you."
My voice shakes in despair.
I will not be a follower
Of The Dead and long gone.

The house swallows me whole.
I am hidden inside its walls.
A maze of rooms for shelter.
Darkness to shield me from harm.

OUR GAMES HAVE JUST BEGUN --- THE DEAD GAME --- PART 37

Run but you cannot hide.
Todd will be mine to find.
No light will shine today,
Only darkness to wield the day.

I wave my wand of lightning,
Bang my drums of thunder.
My mouth breathes puffs of fire,
My soul is pure black.

I come to you as a tornado,
Twisting in the wind,
Gathering force along the way
To strike with the arm of a god.

Your smell entices me.
It leads me to your side.
What was once human
Will soon be a follower of mine.

Linda might adore your sickly beauty,
A facade of a true vampire.
A mere human vampire is no match
For the perfect beauty of mine.

Stand back as I unleash my minions,
Who will crush you with pellets of hail,
Sharp bullets into your human heart,
A stampede of thrashing winds and fire.

Come to me to fulfill your destiny,
As one of my own army.
As a follower and not a competitor,
Leaving only one choice for you to make.

THE HUNT

THE HUNT

It first comes slowly
In the dead of night.
Walking on silent feet.
It draws closer.
You run faster.
It speeds up.
You dash into a building.
An empty school.
It soon follows.
It brings with it a silence.
You can feel its presence.
Coming closer.
It’s now moving quickly.
Down the deserted hallway.
You check the doors.
They are all locked.
You turn.
Close your eyes.
And stand strong.
Darkness descends.

GAZEBO IN THE DARK

GAZEBO IN THE DARK

The thick darkness surrounds me from all sides.
The storm is brewing with the rising tides.
Up ahead is the gazebo in the clearing.
I do not like the sound of the wind I’m hearing.
Tonight it is deserted and eerie.
I wonder if anyone will see me.
There are candles lit inside.
There won’t be a place to hide.
I’m being pulled into the light.
I refuse to give up my fight.
A noose is hanging up above for me.
Soon I’ll be bait for the fish in the sea.

DARK OF NIGHT

A shadow appears in the distance.
It’s dark like the night.
Who is it?
It looks human.
It is coming closer.
Even the grass is
trembling in fear.
Should I hide?
Or should I run?
Too late.
It’s here.
And I’m not anymore.

thecastleofotranto:
Costume designed by Eiko Ishioka (1938~2012)

Come to me, my pretty.
I’m waiting with open arms.
Grab hold of my gown.
I will take you on an adventure.
The bats will be your guide.
Don’t worry.
No one will harm you.
Unless I say so.
Would you follow her?
Would you wear that gown?
What else comes to mind
when you see a gown with bats?

THE CLOWN

blackoutraven:
PENNYWISE
Itzamna10
The hotel room is quiet.
The furniture looks shabby.
A dim light glows from a
small bed-side lamp.
The carpet is worn from
years of footsteps.
Then you hear a strange noise.
A high-pitched static sound.
A sound emanating from the old T.V. set.
The black and white screen appears to be on.
But you didn’t turn on the T.V.
when you entered the room.
A clown’s face appears on the screen.
He looks at you and says,
"Why are you here?
How dare you enter my room!
If you don’t leave right away,
I will just have to kill you.”
At first, you think this is silly
since he’s only an image on a screen.
But then his hand reaches out
through the screen.
His fingers have long red nails.
His body begins to emerge.
He’s here.
For you.
You are no longer alone.

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 197

THE DEAD GAME — DAY 197

The town hall was under attack by flying creatures. Natalie stood before them, reveling in the control she had over the mere mortals.

Shana continued to struggle against the creature. When she looked up at it, it glanced back down at her. She was shocked to see that while it had a human face, it also had a beak. But its body was the body of a huge bat. It kept staring at her, turning its head sideways—like a bird analyzing its prey.
She pulled at her long hair trapped in its sharp talons. Its hooked claws were very sharp; she could feel their edges digging into her scalp. She was in a bad situation. She looked down at the strange scene being played out beneath her.
Father John’s voice bellowed out loud, causing Natalie’s lit reflection to fade and flicker. “If you vanquish me, you silly fool, then Todd’s girlfriend will fall into the fire and
burn up quickly. Humans roast very rapidly—if you need to know for the future.” Natalie laughed.
Sam quietly said to the Father, “I’ve got it covered; just vanquish her as quickly as you can.”
The priest’s voice rose high up into the rafters. The great devotion in his voice made the wooden beams crack and tremble. The whole building shuddered and shook; sections of the ceiling crashed down upon them. He lifted both his arms to heaven and chanted.
Natalie caught on fire: beginning at her legs and then traveling up her tiny body. She screamed and moaned as she tried to fight off the flames. She rolled across the floor in a ball of fire. She continued to sizzle and burn until all that remained of her were ashes. With Natalie annihilated, Linda began to fall into the fire. Sam promptly opened the hose at full blast, which extinguished the fire beneath her and protected her fall with soggy and wet firewood.

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 192

Natalie, Todd's assistant, was the mastermind behind the recent deaths in Oasis. An assistant that Todd had trusted with all the privileged information about his business.

“What happened to the wooden stake in the heart that is supposed to kill vampires? And…” David said.
“Not only are you a useless human, but also a stupid one. Stakes only immobilize vampires, while fire destroys them forever,” Natalie said. Mike agreed with her that some humans have no reason on earth for existing.
“Are there others like you?” Mike asked, hoping that there weren’t more of these creatures running around: multiplying.
     “I am the only one.”

“Had you been one of The Dead before the spell?” Shana asked.
“Yes. I had been one of The Dead, posing as Todd’s assistant.”
“That was how you knew in advance about all my plans and meetings,” Todd said.
“Yes. You had been fooled for so long. Your nature is too trusting for you to ever be a good vampire.”
Todd watched as Natalie puffed up her body,  attempting to appear larger than her mere petite frame allowed her to be. He was disgusted with her for fooling him; but more importantly, he was disgusted with himself for not seeing through her clever ruse of posing as his faithful assistant. He hissed, “It had to be someone who’d been aware of all my plans in advance—to be always one step ahead of me. You were the only one who had prior knowledge of all my meetings and social engagements; the one who constantly pried into my personal life; the one who leaked privileged information about our secret gatherings. You sicken and repulse me.”

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 190

A new evil was now facing the town of Oasis. It was the most deadly so far.

“What could possibly be worse than what we’ve already faced?” David asked. Need you ask silly lion? There is always something worse, Mike gleefully thought, rubbing his imaginary hands together in anticipation.
“Me!” shouted Natalie as she floated before them in the large hall.
She appeared almost transparent, hovering above the floor.  What kind of creature are we now facing? Mike refused to show his fear. “Maybe this is just an apparition created by wizardry or a vampire’s great imagination.”
Natalie  pointed her finger at him and released a stream of lightning that blew a huge hole next to him—right through the floor.  Mike decided that it was time for him to be quiet.
     “What are you?” Linda  asked.
“I am a vampire’s worst enemy; I am the La Santa Muerte or the Skeleton Saint! I am the Saint of Death!” She began transforming before their eyes—her skin peeling away from her body to reveal its skeleton beneath. She was standing before them in a long black nun’s robe with a scythe in her left hand, a crown tilted precariously on her bony head, and her deep eye sockets burning a deep red.
“I am the black Saint of Death, which brings revenge and destruction for its followers. My sisters are much weaker Skeleton Saints: the Red Saint promises love for her people, the White Saint provides protection, while the Gold Saint rewards her worshipers with money and financial support. My followers are seekers of vengeance and I provide all forms of revenge for them. I am the most powerful of all saints!”
     “You have followers?” Shana asked.
“Our followers pray to us for help. They throw feasts in our names. We provide for those who sacrifice to us. I have a large following in a nearby town. I am a true god to them!”
    “What is sacrificed?”
“Stupid human! What do you think is brought to me? Human sacrifices, of course.”

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 160

Mike didn't believe Reece and his group. The vampire leaders were hiding something and he was going to figure it out. Even if it killed him.

“Do you drink blood?” David asked Todd.
Mike got annoyed with him again. He couldn’t believe that David was actually staring into Todd’s eyes and boldly asking him if he drank blood like a vampire. “Why are you asking that? Do you want to be on their bad side?” Linda now has competition for the “no brains” title.
Reece smiled at Mike and David. “We don’t have bad sides. Vampires are good; not like the old fables of bloodthirsty creatures who’d feed on people for sustenance and fun. We never drink human blood, but only supplement our food with animal blood for the extra protein that we require.”
“But Wolf and his gang fed on humans, creating fear and chaos,” Mike said. Everything wasn’t always wrapped up with a pretty ribbon; there was much more going on beneath the happy vampire story than what the elders were telling them.
“They are extreme aberrations from the norm. Wolf’s splinter group enjoys blood-letting too much. All vampires must drink blood, but only The Dead feed on humans. Vampires are now peaceful and drink only animal blood,”Reece said.
He continued, “Wolf and his followers have gained strength over the years. Once they began to drink human blood their powers increased dramatically, and over time they’ve intensified even further. We must search them out and kill them before there is any more bloodshed. We’ll check out any patterns of violence around the world and corner the rest of their group. Don’t worry, we’ll take care of this and you’ll be able to finally live in peace.” After his speech, Reece disappeared, along with the other elders.
Sure, the three of them are going to save the world. So far their track record hadn’t been too good. One of their own had been the leader of The Dead, and they hadn’t even suspected him. Vampires were supposed to have superhuman powers, such as hypnosis and reading people’s minds. Something was definitely off with these vampire leaders.  And he was determined to find out the true story.
