PRETTY IN PINK

 Pretty in Pink

Source:

Petals drift in the warm breeze.
Pretty in pink, they flutter.
The fragrance tickles my nose.
Velvety soft to the touch.
My senses engaged.
My mind is at rest.
No need for worries.
No need for more words.

SIT ALONE IN THE DARK

ALONE IN THE DARK
“I sit alone by the table.
I hear voices around me.
Sounds of movement.
Sounds of life.
I reach out.
I can feel the smoothness.
A plate.
A meal.
Smells waft by my nose.
Aromas of chicken.
Sweet smells of pudding.
Smells of...

I reach out.
I can feel the smoothness.
A plate.
A meal.
Smells waft by my nose.
Aromas of chicken.

Smells of life.

What color is the food?
Is the sun shining in?
Are the faces around me young or old?
So many questions.

Questions I can’t answer.
I can never answer.
For I am blind,
Have been blind for years.”
The anguish my mother faced
For most of her life.
Her sight stolen from her
At a young age.
Loss of sight.
Loss of colors.
Loss of faces.
Loss of memories.

BEAUTY

life is beautiful

Life is beautiful.
Look around.
There’s beauty everywhere.
In every flower.
In each blade of grass.
And in each and every insect.
Too much to take in at a glance.
But no one bothers to notice.
Birds.
Flowers.
Ocean.
Fish.
Clouds.
Sun.
All around us.
See the beauty.
Take in the beauty.
Appreciate the beauty.

MEMORIES

“Rome. Palazzo Spada. Colonnade, 1632, by Francesco Borromini.” Baroque architecture and sculpture in Italy. 1912,

Walk through the pillars
and into another century.
Feel the vibrations
of footsteps in the past.
Hear the laughter
of Roman guests.
Touch the statues
reaching for the sky.
Smell the sweetness
of memories long gone by.

FACELESS

What are we without our faces?
Without our distinctive features.
No eyes to see the morning sun.
No mouth to sing a lullaby.
No nose to smell baking cookies.
We would be mere strokes of color.
A dripping rainbow of hues.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR

Flowering tower.

Spring is in the air.
Sunshine.
Flowers.
Birds chirping.
Pies baking.
I can feel it.
I can smell it.
I can hear it.
I can taste it.
Bring it on.

ROUND AND ROUND WE GO

lifeisthefight:

ROUND AND ROUND WE GO

The day began bright and sunny.
The merry-go-round turned round and round.
Children’s laughter filled the air.
Followed by shouts of joy.
The smell of popcorn wafted by.
Followed by the sweet smell
of cotton candy.
Round and round went the horses.
Followed by the mothers’ eyes.
Round and round we go.
Followed by the rays of sunlight.

Until the sky turned dark.
Heavy with clouds.
Followed by shrieks of thunder.
The sky lit up with lightning.
The merry-go-round was pelted by rain drops.
Followed by a heavy downpour.
The horses circled faster and faster.
The mothers followed.

Until all was gone.
All that was left was mud.
No merry-go-round.
No children.
No mothers.
No shouts of laughter.
Only wet grass.
Where did they disappear to?
To a better place?
To a place without thunder and lightning?
Your guess is as good as mine.

NIGHT WALK

plasmatics-life:
Night Walk - {by Tiina Törmänen} | {Official WebSite}
A walk alone in the dark.
Feel the cold.
Smell the trees.
Hear the snow falling.
Watch the stars sparkle.
Engage all your senses.
No interference.
No voices.
No noises.
Only clean, fresh air.
And you.

THE MAJESTY OF NATURE

THE MAJESTY OF NATURE

The majesty of a thunderstorm.
It could be destructive.
It could also be beautiful.
Sit back and watch.
But be careful to watch from a safe distance.

drxgonfly: Winter Magic (by DreamValley) Nature brings us sweet magic everyday. Everyday of our lives we can see, hear, and smell this magic. We just need to open our eyes, hearts, and minds.

Winter Magic (by DreamValley)

Nature brings us sweet magic everyday.
Everyday of our lives we can see, hear,
and smell this magic.
We just need to open our eyes, hearts, and minds.

So simple. So perfect. So artistic. The beauty of nature.

So simple.
So perfect.
So artistic.
The beauty of nature.

  • Beauty can be found everywhere. Even on dirty, city streets. All you need is your imagination and anything can be accomplished.

SPRING IN THE AIR

BEAUTIFUL SPRING DAY
IF I CLOSE MY EYES,
I CAN HEAR THE WATER STREAM THROUGH THE ROCKS.
I CAN SMELL THE FRESH GRASS.
I CAN HEAR THE LEAVES RUSTLING THROUGH THE TREES.
IF I KEEP MY EYES CLOSED, I COULD BELIEVE IT’S SPRING.
