REST FOR THE WEARY

Source:travel-story

The morning sun peeks through

the canopy of trees.

The blanket of color

covers me with its leaves.

I’m sheltered with

soft petals of pink,

like velvet sheets

splattered with pink ink.

I give a contented sigh

as my eyes soon grow teary.

A bed among the petals

offers rest for the weary.

PRETTY IN PINK

 Pretty in Pink

Source:

Petals drift in the warm breeze.
Pretty in pink, they flutter.
The fragrance tickles my nose.
Velvety soft to the touch.
My senses engaged.
My mind is at rest.
No need for worries.
No need for more words.

DOWN

Source:

Down I go
To the depths
Of my sadness.
I can’t go on.
I must rest.
Replenish my spirit.
Revitalize my soul.
I can turn around.
Go back up.
Try once more.
I must first stop.
Rest.
Perchance to sleep.

SUN'S RAYS

Light squeezes between the leaves.
Eyes to the sky serves me best.
Rays cast hot fingers on me.
Sun has passed its daily test.
The circle widens and deepens.
A place to while away the day.
I keep to its rounded corners.

GOOD NIGHT MOON

All is dark.
Until the moon find us.
Hits us with its spotlight.
Blinds us with its glow.
Reveals us to the night.
All we want is darkness.
Respite from the sun.
Sleep for the weary.
Good night moon.

A PERFECT SUMMER DAY

This is a perfect summer day.
Too hot for us to dance or play.
Perfect for a short nap or snooze.
The long daylight we sure won't lose.
Let's wile away the hours
And pick some pretty flowers.
Please come with me my dearest one.
I only want us to have fun.
Nothing could hurt us on this lake,
Unless you think my ploy is fake.

REST FOR THE WEARY

timothyzero:
Imagine being an island all to yourself.
With your own grass and plants.
All alone with no one to bother you.
Able to sleep away the days and nights.
Floating in the middle of the water.
Alligators and crocodiles give you room.
A little rest for the weary.
