ROCKS

ROCKS
I wade in the cold,
waves up to my waist.
Rocks loom before me,
victims of the raging sea.
Honed to perfection,
faces to the sky.
They stand in silence
as I join their line.

END OF TIME

Time has stopped in mid-flight.
Clouds have ceased circling the earth.
The sun refuses to show its face
For time has come to an end.

The roar echoes through the land.
Lights flicker in erratic spurts.
The power reaches its hand down
To the silent earth below.

My heart feels hollow and empty.
Panic fills the empty spaces.
My love has come to an end
And so too has the world.

A battle rages between my lovers.
Built upon anger, passion, and deceit.
The winner takes all,
And soon even me.

Todd must win this battle.
His heat must melt the ice.
He must save us from the evil one,
Who holds us in the palm of his hand.

The earth shakes and trembles in despair.
A blanket of darkness descends in slow motion.
The battle rages on in its fury.
Clashes of swords echo its thunder.

All is black.
Darkness, my only friend.
No sound to direct me
To the battlefield of hell.

GAMES

The growling follows us outside
Down the rickety stairs to the beach.
Laughter floats in the howling wind
As hot breath swirls around our necks.
Shadows fly at us on gossamer wings,
Tracking our shaky journey downward.
Darkness hides the beach below,
Sandy cushions await our final fall.
I fly with the wind to land on pillows,
Shaking the pixie dust from my eyes.
I leave Mike and David behind
As I race down the moonlit walkway.
A noose waits for me.
My neck fits perfectly in the hole.
Hooded creatures circle round the gazebo,
An appropriate place for my last stand.
Our games have just begun.

AN OASIS TO HELL

Beauty marred by death.
An oasis scarred by evil and murder.
Oasis, Florida promises sunshine and beaches
but delivers death and destruction.
Do you still want to visit?
We’ll be waiting.

TAKE ME TO PARADISE

Our imagination entices us.
It takes us to new places.
It fulfills our needs.
It defines us.

With our eyes closed,
We could explore the world.
Nothing to limit us.
Nothing to get in our way.

Oceans could be crossed.
Far away places visited.
Mountains climbed.
Passions enjoyed.

Doors need to be opened.
Thresholds crossed.
Our minds have the capabilities.
So many possibilities.

A closed door stands before me,
Hiding its own secrets.
I will not let it
Stop me or inhibit me.

I will cross its threshold
With eyes wide open.
Ready to take on the day
And maybe even the night.

The door opens to flowers and sunshine.
Lounge chairs on the hot sand.
The sun shining on the ocean,
Revealing palettes of blues and greens.

A perfect paradise waits for me.
A bathing suit lying across a chair.
Time for a swim and a tan.
A beautiful escape.

Maybe a little too perfect?
The sea breeze becomes a little rougher.
The waves stand a little taller.
The palm trees whip around in the wind.

It is my fantasy.
Its direction is in my hands.
Storm or peaceful tropical day.
Some excitement is definitely needed.

Heavy winds approach Oasis' shore.
I make a quick retreat to the hotel.
I join my friends at the bar
As palm trees fly across the pool deck.

I will follow my imagination
To wherever it may lead me.
I hope this story has a happy ending
For me and the town of Oasis, Florida.

THE DEAD

THE DEAD

The Dead are now here.
I cower in fear.
I see Louise hanging
While The Dead are laughing.
They circle her body with their hoods on.
What have we done for this to come upon?
Their evil chanting flows to me through the air,
Lifting every single one of my hair.
Their leader is lifting his arms to the sky.
For my poor Louise, this is a sad goodbye.
I must run for help from the Sheriff.
For soon the rest of us will perish.

COME TO ME

COME TO ME

Come to me.
As the moon rises.
The sun dips its head.
The stars come out to play.

Come to me.
This night of nights.
When the dead will play.
And all will be lost.

Come to me.
To my dark house.
Holding secrets of the night.
Secrets never shared.
Secrets hidden in its walls.

Come to me.
Before it’s too late.
Before all are gone.
And lost forever.

Come to me.
Welcome to my humble abode.
My retreat from mankind.
My shelter from the storm.

Come to me.
And dance the night away.
Before the bitter end.
And the dead conquer the day.

FURY

FURY

Hell.
Horror.
Fury.
Darkness descending.
Birds fleeing.
Sun shirking its duty.
Pellets raining down.
Hell.
Horror.
Fury.
The sound of the winds.
The sound of the waves.
No one can save us.
No one can hear us.
Hell.
Horror.
Fury.
We are alone.
We are lost.
The Dead are here.
They are here to stay.

A PARADISE FROM HELL

mrgif:

Florida may seem like paradise.
Warm tropical breezes.
White sand.
Rolling waves.
Bright sunshine.
But wait until the storms.
The storms arrive
with a vengeance.
With a goal of murder
and destruction.
And what comes with
these winds?
THE DEAD.
They follow on the heels
of death and sorrow.
They destroy
whatever they touch.
So beware of the storms,
for they bring dark shadows.
THE DEAD are here to stay.

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 189

Their town was under attack. Who was it this time?

They raced through town, dodging broken windows and fallen trees. Garbage cans were being lifted in the wind, strewing garbage through the deserted streets. The wind was taking on a strange circular path through town. The sky turned very dark—almost black. Lightning was streaking through the sky, followed by loud rumbles of thunder. As they ran down Main Street, lightning lit up the streets that were being harshly pummeled by the swirling gusts.
They found the town hall standing tall and strong against the wind and its violent elements. They charged up the staircase and ran through the front double doors that were already standing wide open. Todd hoped that they weren’t entering another trap, unhappily remembering Wolf’s doors that had been also waiting open for them.
This time, Father John was in the doorway.
“Hello, Father! Is anyone else here?” he yelled.
“No, just me,” shouted back the Father.
Shana looked at the priest. “Father, why are you here and not at the church?”
“The church has lost its roof and its beautiful bell tower. I would never have believed it if I hadn’t witnessed it with my own eyes. The church has stood strong and solid for over two hundred years and has never been damaged by any storm. And we’ve had plenty of storms much more vicious than this one.”
“We’re now facing a new danger that can destroy everything in its path,” Todd said. He was hoping that his guess was wrong: that they weren’t about to meet an indestructible force head-on.

THE MAJESTY OF NATURE

THE MAJESTY OF NATURE

gothdollysedits:

The majesty of a thunderstorm.
It could be destructive.
It could also be beautiful.
Sit back and watch.
But be careful to watch from a safe distance.

Nature brings us sweet magic everyday.
Everyday of our lives we can see, hear,
and smell this magic.
We just need to open our eyes, hearts, and minds.

So simple. So perfect. So artistic. The beauty of nature.

So perfect.
So artistic.
The beauty of nature.
