We seem to forget that
we are part of nature.
We come from the earth
and when our time is up,
we will go back to the earth.
We must keep our humility.
Keep our humanity intact.
Or the earth will reject us,
and eject us into the great unknown.

As a body with a soul running through it.
A soul that could be black as death
or as light as the sun shining above.
Who are we?
We are what’s inside
and not the pile of skin
and bones on the outside.

 

Come here clear water.

Wash onto the shore.

Wash away all the dirt

and debris from life.

Purify us and our souls.

Let us clear our mind

and enjoy the beauty of the ocean.

It brings a newness to our lives

and our souls.

One act of kindness is worth so much more.
It gives back to a world that has given us life.
It provides a reason for the existence of mankind.
A reason for us to have been given life and a spot
in the immense universe.

Is there a soul?
A soul devoted to goodness or evil?
That is the question we should be asking
when we first meet someone.

What is beautiful to one person,
can look ugly to another.
What matters is the beauty inside.
Nothing can mask an evil being.

The Road Taken

The road taken can lead us in many directions and can also lead us to more choices. All our choices help mold us into who we are and who we later become. I’d like to choose the road that leads to beautiful sunsets and serenity.
We must be wise and choose the right course.

Life Placed in Proper Perspective

Water has always been soothing to me. I can sit for hours and watch water flow down a stream or pond. My problems feel less important and some even begin to sound silly. Life must be placed in proper perspective. We must stop and reorganize our priorities—always in favor of the needy and helpless. God reminds us of this by the sheer majesty of nature. We are only a small part of the universe that continues on with or without us.
