A SMALL TOWN

A town of sea breezes, long evening walks, and colorful sunsets. A quaint Florida town with parties on the beach, friendly townspeople, and THE DEAD. No town is perfect. THE DEAD GAME Kindle http://amzn.to/1lKvMrP Nook http://bit.ly/1lFdqNj

MEMORIES

chandelier

Crystal chandelier of mine.
I love your sparkle and shine.
You bring back memories long gone
when life hadn’t been so far gone.
Remember the parties we used to host?
Fancy guests arriving from coast to coast.
Music and laughter were the rules of the day.
But now all that is left are the bills to pay.

KEEP YOUR EYES CLOSED

The past calls.
A past filled with parties.
Balls held at the castle.
Dancers in the moonlight.
Close your eyes.
A carriage waits for you.
You arrive at the castle.
Footmen escort you.
You ascend the staircase,
wearing your new ball gown.
A man leads you to the dance floor.
Close your eyes.
Yes, it is a dream.
Keep your eyes closed,
and sway to the music.

RED SUNSET

Cape Cod July 2013_-60 (by jackfrench)

Sunset brings shadows with the night.
Birds of prey take off in dark flight.
Hues of red fill the night air.
High-pitched howls sound too near.
Residents hide behind locked doors.
Is that blood seeping through the floors?
The forest rumbles with song and laughter.
Night parties filled to every rafter.
Limousines line the path to the glass house
Glass statues watch them, quiet as a mouse.
Dancing halts at the strike of midnight,
Twirling figures freeze in the moonlight.

RED

Hues of red fill the humid air.
The residents hide behind closed doors.
The tourists huddle in fear at the hotel.
The town waits deserted and quiet.
The woods rumble with music.
Dignitaries visit from around the world.
Limousines line the paths to the glass house,
Where guests fill the dance floor.
Linda watches them laugh and drink.
An undercurrent lies beneath the gaiety.
As if evil waits to raise its ugly head.
The Dead Game has begun.

BLOODY SUNRISE

The sun rises over the red water,
red from the bloodshed that night.
Bodies wash up on the shore,
vestiges of the parties held that night.
Bloody footsteps mar the shoreline
left by The Dead walking at night.

The Fourth of July

Up in the night sky
Colors float so high.
Raining down in hues
Of red, white, and blue.
Victory is our day.
We are all out to play.
Music and marching bands.
Raise up our clapping hands.
Celebrate the 4th of July.
Let the colorful lights fly high.

THE OTHER SIDE

Doorway in Forest
THE OTHER SIDE
What’s on the other side?
Don’t be afraid or hide.
What will you see?
Will you be free?
Color replaces black.
But watch your friend’s back.
Night creatures out for fun.
In the Florida sun.
Mansions to explore.
Parties and much more.
One step at a time.
And follow this rhyme.
And soon you will be there.
Who knew it was so near?

SO HAPPY TOGETHER

A beautiful couple.
So happy together.
Fun times.
Sad times.
Good memories.
Unhappy losses.
New house.
Children.
Grandchildren.
Parties.
Funerals.
So happy together in life.
So happy together in death.

UNHOLY AFFECTION

Can you see the light ahead?
It glows bright and red.
A signal for the games to come.
Games held in the dark of night.
By creatures who hold the dark holy.
Parties to begin with the moon rising.
Revelry until the morning hours.
Gone until the next full moon.
With bodies left behind on the beach.
A token of their unholy affection.

THE DEAD

Oasis, Florida, a town of beauty.
White-sanded beaches and blue water.
Tourists flock to town
for the famous parties.
The Dead come out at night.
Dark shadows leaving behind
dead bodies on the soft sand.
Are they residents?
Are they tourists?
Come & find out who they really are.
