THE EDGE

Source:

A walk to the edge.
A dip in the ocean.
A dive into the unknown.
It will soon cover me
With its soothing wetness.
Am I ready?

I’M YOURS

I fall into your arms.
The air carries me
As I fall into your depths.
Pink cocoons me.
Wetness envelopes me.
Take me.
I’m yours.

BURY ME

Source:

Take me to my own secret room,
Where I can escape from humanity.
Bury me in words and phrases,
Cocooned in my haven of pages.
Letters will be my company,
Sentences my best friends,
Books my destiny.

FREE AT LAST

Free At Last

FREE AT LAST

Slow is the course of your waves.
Colors of the deep lie by my feet.
Your soothing laps bring me peace.
I must swim out to see whom I meet.

Your cold envelopes my stiff body.
Soon I am immersed in your cocoon.
I dive down deep below the surface.
I won’t be returning all too soon.

Trying to outrun my demons,
I swim faster from the shore.
I leave behind my enemies.
I don’t need them anymore.

I’m free at last from my problems
As I stroke hard away from humanity.
No one is waiting for me back home.
I’m free to float away for eternity.

TO THE LIGHT

TO THE LIGHT
Bring me to the light
Where demons don’t dwell,
And colors appear to soothe my tired soul.
A rainbow of delights engulfs me.
Raindrops fall to wash my tears.
Music surrounds me in a heartbeat.
I am not alone.
Others have found this paradise.
A place to quiet the wandering beast.
Arms lift me.
Roses entomb me.
I am here at last.
I’ve made it to paradise.

A DARK COCOON

eclipse
The moon passes the sun.
Morning bows out, all done.
Darkness unveils its grim poker hand
to the drum beat of the marching band.

A moment of blackness
brings fears of more darkness.
What if your life was all dark?
The sun never lefts its mark.

The mornings and nights the same,
bringing you mountains of pain.
No relief from the bleak cocoon
like digging your grave with a spoon.

Years fade and turn to dust,
your memory goes bust.
Trapped in walls of despair,
without holes for the air.

Is this living or not?
She is stuck in one spot.
Too afraid to venture outside,
a further blow to her lost pride.

She hides in the nursing home,
where she reaches for the phone.
“Help me,” she cries out.
No one can help out.

Lost in her dark cocoon,
where she fits like a spoon.
Waiting for death to take its flight
to a better place in the light.

A GLIMPSE OF HEAVEN

Alone with nature.
A feeling like no other.
A sky filled with birds.
Purple with the fading sun.
Sea breezes wrap around me.
Cocooning me in their mist.
Life stands still for this picture.
A glimpse of heaven from above.

THERE

I want to be there.
Not here by my computer.
But there on the beach.
Walking on the sand.
Feeling the cold water
hit my toes.
The pounding surf
against my body.
Spray of salt water
on my face.
Soothing.
Refreshing.
Like a cocoon,
enveloping me,
comforting me.
I close my eyes
and feel a laugh
bubbling inside of me,
ready to take flight.
A laugh of delight
and freedom.
Come join me.
A fantasy can
be easily shared.

A Perfect Place To Be Alone

If I could find this place, I would lay back and close my eyes. Imagine the scope of stories I could create in my mind. Maybe a romance or a murder mystery. We all need our own private place where we could reflect. I just want mine to be inside a snow globe.

The Perfect Place For Dreams

I’d close my eyes and feel the motion of the water. Feel the force of the water pushing against the clear walls enclosing my safe cocoon. The pressure is increasing, the water is pressing harder against the clear walls. Oh no! Claustrophobia! I just ruined my own dream. Not to worry, there are always more. Dreams are unlimited!
