THE CIRCLE OF LIFE

The circle of life.

We may fall,

but we’ll rise again

from the dust.

Life continues.

A never-ending circle.

LET THE LEAVES FALL

Source: fall-spirit

Let the leaves fall where they may

upon tombstones built to stay.

On these stones, the residents pound

as fall colors litter the ground.

No one is free to leave.

To this earth, they must cleave.

AUTUMN

Let the leaves change colors & fall.

Shades of orange, yellow, & red.

Autumn, the best season of all.

Take care when your head hits the bed.

The Dead descend; our town will fall.

DOWN WE GO

A steep cliff lies before us.
End House looms behind.
We’ve endured.
A pool of blood.
Descending saws.
Wild animals.
The cliff looks safer.
Down we go.

THE DICTATES OF OLD MAN WINTER

The epic battle of the seasons.
Old Man Winter
erase all signs of Fall.
Snow covers the ground.
Tree limbs hang low dripping white.
Fall holds her branches
close to her body.
Some have already fallen.
The lone casualties of war.
The battle rages on.
Fall will have to succumb
to the dictates of Old Man Winter.
She has no choice.
She puts up a valiant battle.
She will be back after Summer
finishes heating the earth.
She bows her head.

A FALL DAY

A beautiful fall day.
A pebbled path through the red.
Charcoal steps leading up.
Fantasies flow through my head.
The leaves lift off
Until the day turns dark.
I’m trapped inside
A red swirl in the park.
The rain trickles.
The wind cackles.
I flee for...

Until the day turns dark.
I’m trapped inside
A red swirl in the park.

The rain trickles.
The wind cackles.
I flee for safety
On raised hackles.

The path is gone.
Night has come too soon.
The path is gone.
Lost in the full moon.

SKIN AND BONES

Source:

Skin and bones.
That’s all we are.
Easy to break.
Easy to fall.
Don’t fall apart.
Keep strong.
Keep fit.
In mind.
In body.
And in soul.

AUTUMN IN THE AIR

Howautumnal

Whipping through the air
In colors of orange and green.
Falling by your feet,
A playground for a child.
The child in you.

TAUNT ME, TEASE ME

Hotdogssss 6/?

Hit me.
Strike me.
I will not fall.
Tease me.
Taunt me.
I will not give up.
Leave me.
Haunt me.

I WILL SLEEP

Source:

Down I go
To the depths
Of my sadness.
I can’t go on.
I must rest.
Replenish my spirit.
Revitalize my soul.
I can turn around.
Go back up.
Try once more
To live my life.
First I will sleep.

FLAME

FLAME

Quiver.
Flicker.
Shoot sparks.
Tremble.
Falter.
But always
Give light.
