INTO THE WOODS WE GO

INTO THE WOODS WE GO

Into the woods we go.

What's in store we don't know.

A green light is following us through

In shades of yellow and even blue.

The birds have disappeared from sight.

I can hear their wings taking flight.

A house stands in the clearing up ahead.

Off to the side is a broken down shed.

Two people are waiting at the door.

Can it be us they are looking for?

It is us they are staring at.

The man is waving his top hat.

This feels like one of those fairy tales.

The man is wearing top hat and tails.

The sky has just turned pitch black.

I want to turn and go back.

I can't see the house or couple anymore.

I have a feeling that we are all done for.

IT BURNS

nokturrdodith:

IT BURNS

Terror has to come to our town.
Why the big unhappy frown?
The Dead are here to stay.
They have come out to play.
The church is burning down.
There goes our pretty town.
I am their leader, you see.
Bow down now and worship me.

"A DELIGHT AND A TERROR TO READ"

A delight and a terror to read

May 7, 2015
Format: Kindle Edition

Nothing is what it seems to be in this graphically and brilliantly written horror story.

Take an idyllic town called Oasis. Take a girl called Linda who arrives there to open a bookshop (but finds that she's really opening a can of worms - and corpses and vampires and ghosts). Take her stubborn determination to investigate on and on and on instead of getting the hell out. Take a mysterious invitation to an abandoned mansion of death and decay. Take all these and every fibre of you and your brain will be screaming "What in under God are you doing there? Get out! Don't be crazy!"

This dark romantic horror fantasy was a delight and a terror to read. Stunning.

SUMMER

alecsgrg:
Pier 60 | ( by Claude Allaert )
SUMMER

I want to enjoy the summer light.
It does shine on the water so bright.
Smell the salt water in the  air.
Let the sea breeze flow through my hair.
Happiness is a day at the beach.
It is what I so dearly beseech.
A day with no worries or fears.
No bad things to bring me to tears.

FOLLOW THE LIGHTS

halftimeprincess: Art by Augusto Peixoto @ IrondoomDesign DEVIANTART

FOLLOW THE LIGHTS

Follow the lights to the house of glass.

There will be much splendor in the grass.

Lights in the trees as far as the eye could see.

A more decadent event there could not be.

Champagne will be flowing until the wee hours.

Come with me and dance among the pretty flowers.

This room full of guests gives me a chill.

Maybe we should leave I’ve had my fill.

Eyes are following us in the room.

They will be upon us all too soon.

The guests are not what they appear.

Beneath they are just bones and hair.

TRAPPED

TRAPPED

Trapped inside myself.
Trapped with my insecurities.
Afraid to break free.
Free to try new things.
To be a different person.
Can it be done?
It will be painful.
Breaking the glass walls around me.
Too much broken glass and blood.
But I can do it.
I will do it.
Goodbye to doubters.
Hello to new me.

THE WALLS

whitesoulblackheart: Come for you by Glen Parry

THE WALLS
What lives in the walls of this place?
Come on–I want to see its face.
Does it look like you and me?
That would be a sight to see.
It might look like a little kid.
It might just be, I dare not fib.
Let’s leave now before it’s too late.
And the walls attack us with hate.
I’m beginning to see arms and legs.
There are bodies hanging on those pegs.
End House has come alive with The Dead.
I’m afraid we have made our death bed.

IN THE DARKNESS

IN THE DARKNESS

The woods of Oasis are too quiet.

I should have stayed in the nearest Hyatt.

Now I’m here alone in this park

When I’m so afraid of the dark.

A party invitation indeed.

I shouldn’t have paid it any heed.

Could be a witches’ coven or vampire lair.

I can feel cold fingers pulling on my hair.

I must escape from these creatures fast

Before I become a thing of the past.

THE DAMNED

frogsign:about-epic: Dream Space | AE

THE DAMNED

The sky is turning a myriad of shades.
An evil force is being unleashed in spades.
It will soon be coming to shore.
I don’t want to become a bore,
But all hell is coming undone.
Time is at end for any fun.
Creatures of the dark will be here.
The cries of the damned you’ll soon hear.
Run for shelter before it’s too late,
Or you’ll become dinner on their plate.
They come for one and us all.
We’ll be covered by a pall.
I can see them flying in the sky.
Come quick with me before we all die.

HAUNTED NIGHT

The night is haunted by evil beings.

Those without true hearts or human feelings.

They come to our town at night

And stay until morning light.

They prey upon the innocent and lonely.

The other night they took my one and only.

A tourist town of parties and fun

Turns evil with the setting sun.

Please stay away from here.

More deaths I cannot bear.

The Oasis that we have loved and cherished

Is now long gone with those who have perished.

A REVIEW OF THE DEAD GAME WITH A TWIST

February 17, 2015
Format: Paperback
Usually I don't like vampire stories, they're trite and Susanne Leist's "The Dead Game" is like a scavenger hunt with a twist of the board game "Clue". Every character is like a chess piece and just when you think you've got checkmate, you realize the game isn't over yet. Leist has added a refreshing twist with this with a lot of plot twists which prolongs the suspense aspect which keeps the intrigue intense. It's like Hollywood story meets "The Munsters." Starting with the haunted house deliberately leads the reader into a Pandora's Box, creating a paradoxical effect that is most imaginative and rare.
Very creative!

MIDNIGHT AT THE OASIS

The clock chimes midnight at the Oasis.
Time could be at end--we have no basis.
The midnight hour strikes panic and fear
In innocent hearts that can no longer bear
The horror soon to besiege us all,
For before night's end someone will fall.

A PERFECT SUMMER DAY

This is a perfect summer day.
Too hot for us to dance or play.
Perfect for a short nap or snooze.
The long daylight we sure won't lose.
Let's wile away the hours
And pick some pretty flowers.
Please come with me my dearest one.
I only want us to have fun.
Nothing could hurt us on this lake,
Unless you think my ploy is fake.

THE JUNGLE

THE JUNGLE

A tropical jungle you see
Is just perfect for you and me.
We could walk along the creaky bridge,
Better than eating out of our fridge.
The jungle is waiting for us,
So we must get on the next bus.
I want to go into the forest deep
And I don’t want to hear from you a peep.
Walk across the rickety bridge with me,
An adventure is waiting–you’ll soon see.

BUTTERFLY FLY AWAY

phoenix-in-ashes:

BUTTERFLY FLY AWAY

Fly away my butterfly.
Up into the clearing sky.
Away from this park.
Away from the  dark.
I wish I could fly with you.

To a sky clear and blue.

I want to be free from this fight,

But this noose is holding me tight.

Farewell to Oasis and my friends.

This shouldn’t be how the story ends.
