I BID YOU, ADIEU

The forest torments me to no end.
I don’t want this to be a dead end.
Hot breath breathes close to my ear
as I make my way from here.
The woods are known to be haunted.
With dark whispers, I’ve been taunted.
I’ve passed this tree before.
I can’t run anymore.
The shadows are closing in.
The forest is dark as sin.
I must say goodbye to one and all.
It’s time to follow the bouncing ball.
The script has been written.
My neck has been bitten.
I bid you adieu.
A vampire, to you.

DARK WOODS

The wind whispers, ” Hello,”
to whom I don’t know.
I quicken my pace
to get out of this place.
Under the trees, I run
to a place in the sun.
I was at the beach,
within close reach.
But now I race in fear
that I’ll be found here.
“Take me out of here,”
I run fast in fear.

KILL ME

A walk through the woods
on a sunny afternoon.
The sun soon retreats
to be replaced by dark shadows.
Sighs fill the silence.
The tall trees lift their roots.
Trunks become faces,
branches reaching arms.
Shivering leaves fall in fear.
The giants move forward.
Just kill me now.

THE LIGHT

A distant light beckons to me.
It seems to be moving closer.
I can hear its moaning cry.
What can it be?
Come with me into the woods
And we will find out together.

BEFORE THE NEXT FULL MOON

How did I come to be here?
Cold wrapped around me in fear.
No matter how far I walk.
I could hear them move and talk.
Muttering curses on me.
But faces I cannot see.
They surround me on each side.
There’s nowhere for me to hide.
I must get out of here soon.
Before the next full moon.

PUDDLES OF CRIMSON

colorful gradient 32289

Shades of red fall from the sky,
Reaching the ground in puddles of crimson.
Footsteps of The Dead linger around Oasis.
Taking their victims in their mighty thrall.
Red keeps falling from the darkening sky.
Covering the grass and trees with its hue.
My face burns hot from its touch.
My heart beats blood in quickening tempo.
The Dead are tracking me through the woods.
I will be one with them all too soon.

THE DARK FOREST

Come and visit.
Follow the line of trees.
Where do you think it leads?
Deep into a forest.
Down a dark road to a haunted house.
You will never know unless you start walking.
Ignore the moans and screams, it’s just the animals.
The howling are from a pack of wild dogs.
They like people very much.
It is safe to walk farther on.
Don’t look back, face forward, and walk.
Soon you’ll be reaching your destination.
Be prepared for anything.
Don’t be afraid.

Anything is a possibility.
Come and visit us.
Follow the line of trees.
Where does it lead?
Deep into a forest.
Down a dark road.

Ignore the moans and screams.
They are just animals.
A pack of wild dogs are howling.
They love people.
It is safe for you to walk into the forest.
Don’t look back.

Face forward and walk.
Soon you’ll be reaching your destination.
Be prepared for anything.
Don’t be afraid.

A party at the deserted End House
is waiting for you.
And so are The Dead.

INTO THE WOODS WE GO

INTO THE WOODS WE GO

Into the woods we go.

What's in store we don't know.

A green light is following us through

In shades of yellow and even blue.

The birds have disappeared from sight.

I can hear their wings taking flight.

A house stands in the clearing up ahead.

Off to the side is a broken down shed.

Two people are waiting at the door.

Can it be us they are looking for?

It is us they are staring at.

The man is waving his top hat.

This feels like one of those fairy tales.

The man is wearing top hat and tails.

The sky has just turned pitch black.

I want to turn and go back.

I can't see the house or couple anymore.

I have a feeling that we are all done for.
