THE MYSTERY IN LIFE

Who doesn't like to have a little mystery in their life?
What is at the end of the pier?
What is behind the door?
What lies ahead for us as we swim through the waves?
Mystery is what keeps life interesting.
Don't fear the unknown but embrace it!
Life still holds many more surprises for us.

THE DEAD WALK AT NIGHT. BEWARE!

THE DEAD WALK AT NIGHT

WHO ARE THE DEAD?
What happens at the secret parties on the hill? Why do the hill residents only party at night? They are never seen during the day.
Do the dead bodies washing up on shore have anything to do with these residents? And where are the tourists who have been disappearing from the hotel?
Linda and her friends must figure out what is happening to their once peaceful town. With two of their own missing, they must uncover the one controlling The Dead and everyone else in town.

IT'S ALL IN THE DETAILS

LEAP OF FAITH

I love to read books. All types of books: mysteries, thrillers, romance, horror, paranormal....
One day, I was looking in the bookstore for a murder mystery with a creepy/haunted house or a creepy location. I couldn't find anything. Haunted houses aren't as popular as they used to be. Horror stories still use them but not mysteries.
A light in my brain turned on. I will write a murder mystery in a  small town with a deserted house.
That is exactly what I did. It is called The Dead Game. Some of the town's inhabitants only come out at night, so I added supernatural elements.
I took a leap of faith. And wrote the book. Time will tell if I have a following. But I have my murder mystery in a haunted house, with dead bodies and villains.

WHO IS READY FOR THE SNOW? I COUNT TWO.

ARE YOU READY FOR THE SNOW?

I'm not ready for the snow. I'm trying to prepare myself with thoughts of white trees and grass, and picnics in the snow. I've never had a picnic in the winter and I don't know if I want to have one.

When the snow covers the earth, I like the quiet that envelopes everything. Before the cars and people come out, you can feel the quiet. No birds or sounds, just total quiet. And a whiteness like a clean blanket thrown over your little spot in the world. I could look forward to this.

When everything is quiet, you could hear yourself think. Feel yourself calm down. A reprieve from the hustle of everyday life. I guess we all could use the time to recharge our inner batteries.
So enjoy the snow and its special gift to you.

A Peek Inside The Dead Game

A peek inside The Dead Game
Slowly his mouth lowered onto hers, drawing her into a swirling miasma of unexpected feelings and desires.  His mouth fully covering hers introduced her to a new realm of pure pleasure.  His powerful form enveloped her, making her feel feelings that were foreign and untried for her.  She couldn’t get enough of him.  She tentatively began touching his face and then his body with an eager and unrelenting hunger.  She didn’t know exactly what she needed, but she knew that she wanted and desired this beautiful man standing right before her.  Her past life was washed completely out of her mind, never to be considered again.  She begged him to take her with him tonight.  In response, Wolf lifted her in his arms—as if she weighed nothing—and turned to leave the party.  His beautiful face looked victorious and happy.  His black eyes filled with passion.  She hoped that it was because of her.  Then he looked down into her small face and gave a hearty roar.
While Wolf carried her in his powerful arms, a dark shadow swooped out of the house and flew directly at them.  Linda was knocked out of his strong grasp, while Wolf was thrown across the patio.
She looked up to see who had attacked them.  It was Todd, his eyes a deadly shade of green, standing there panting.
Linda backed away in horror.  His eyes clearing, Todd looked beseechingly at her.  “Don’t ever be afraid of me!  I’m here to protect you!”
Then he was struck down by Wolf.

WHAT WILL YOU LEAVE BEHIND?

We all leave some trace of ourselves behind. It could be something that we had created like a book or a piece of artwork. It could also be something simple like a laugh, a smile, or even a joke.
What will you leave behind?
Will it be straightforward like tracks in the sand that others can easily follow? Will it be a feeling that remind people of you?
Do we want others to remember us? Do we want loved ones to think of us fondly?
This will only happen if we work at it. We must be careful to be good people and not hurt anyone unjustly.  It is definitely worth the extra effort.

MANY FACES OF....

This is a great picture. How many faces do you see?
We show different faces to the world at different times. We can appear happy, sad, troubled, friendly, hostile, secretive, honest, consoling, mysterious, and so on....
But what face is the true face? What do we really feel inside?
Unfortunately, when we speak to someone, we don't know if we're seeing their true face or the face they are determined to show to the world. Given the circumstances, we could make an educated guess. But it is just a guess. Only the person who owns the face knows his true self. And maybe we don't really want to know what he or she is thinking.

ALONE

Jonathan Coloma
Do you sometimes feel all alone? As if no one else understood what you were going through. No one was there to help. Hardship is supposed to make us stronger. But I don’t want to be stronger. I only want to be happy.

MIRROR IMAGE

What do you see when you gaze at your own reflection?
Are you pleased with what you see? Is it a mirror image of what you are inside?
Reflections could be deceiving.
Houses may appear cheerful and colorful on the outside, but what about the people who live in these homes? Are they happy or are they sad?
The sky may appear calm at night, but a storm may be soon approaching.
The mountains stand proud and tall, but they might be treacherous to navigate through.
Once our shells are peeled away, we might not like what we see.

THE DEAD GAME by Susanne Leist

THE DEAD GAME
The Dead Game is a supernatural thriller. It’s a cross between the TV shows Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries.
Linda moved to a small town to live a quieter and simpler life. She opened a bookstore and made new friends. Life was simple—that is until the dead body washed up on shore. Linda was horrified to find out that dead bodies and disappearing tourists were common for this town. As soon as the sun set, she and her friends were stalked by dark shadows. But this was only the beginning.Linda and her group received an unsigned invitation to a party at the deserted house on the hill. They were afraid of the unfriendly hill residents. Residents that only ventured out of their homes at night. They did attend the party. Pursued through revolving rooms and dangerous traps, they barely escaped with their lives. Two of their own remained trapped in the house. Or so they thought. The Dead Game had begun.

TWO FACES

TWO FACES
We all have two faces. One that we show to the world and the other that we keep safely hidden inside. What if everyone was unafraid to show their true self? Would the world be a better place to live in? We would never have to second guess whether someone was being truthful or not. We would all see what was real and not an illusion created by others.
It is easier to have two faces. That is why I believe that it is not going to change. Sometimes I wish that people would take the harder route and be truthful. I do that. Unfortunately, the most common reaction is surprise and skepticism. It is still worth a try.
