INVISIBLE ME

A ghost of me

Some days I feel strong and empowered,
ready to face the challenges
life throws at me.
Other days I feel invisible,
a transparent copy of myself,
feeling my life fade away.
How do I remain strong?
My transparent self
needs to be reminded
of all the people
who rely on it.
It flickers.
It becomes solid.
It becomes strong once again.

WALK WITH ME MY LOVELY

Follow me my lovely
down the path by the river.
Together we shall explore
the quiet and solitude.
No one to bother us.
No noise to startle us.
Only the lapping of
the water against the pier.
We will walk together
to unknown adventures.
We will see what life
may hold for us.
Too bad you are just a ghost.
A shadow of your former self.
But we will still be together.
Forever.

PERCEPTION

Do you feel like you have a separate person inside?
A different person than the one portrayed to the world?
Do you feel young with an older person peeking out?
Or are you an old person with a younger one inside?
I’ve always felt like the same little girl inside.
My body ages but inside I’m the same.
I have the same thoughts and feelings.
I might deal with them in a more mature manner
but maybe not.

THE ONE INSIDE

What do you see when you look into the mirror?
Do you see what everyone else sees?
Do you see your skin, hair, and eyes?
Or do you see what’s inside?
Do you see who you really are
once you peel away the bones?
You can’t help it.
You know who you are, no matter
how you present yourself to others.

NEVER ALONE

NEVER ALONE

When you are sleeping, do you sometimes feel a presence beside you? Do you dream of people you have lost? Do you wish that you can see those people one more time? In your dreams, you are not alone. They are with you in your dreams and in your thoughts.

When you are sleeping, do you sometimes
feel a presence beside you?
Do you dream of people you have lost?
Do you wish that you can see those
people one more time?
In your dreams, you are not alone.
They are with you in your dreams
and in your thoughts.

  • You look into the mirror and see your reflection staring back at you. What do you feel? Do you feel alone? Look again. You are not alone— you have the most wonderful person in the world with you. You have yourself—your best friend. One who knows your innermost thoughts, but still stays with you. You are never alone.

You look into the mirror and see
your reflection staring back at you.
What do you feel?
Do you feel alone?
Look again.
You are not alone—
you have the most wonderful
person in the world with you.
You have yourself—your best friend.
One who knows your innermost thoughts,
but still stays with you.
You are never alone.

IN THE MIRROR

We hide behind our many faces.
Who are we going to be today?
Look in the mirror.
Only then do we see our true selves.
We hide behind our many faces.
Who are we going to be today?
Look in the mirror.
Only then do we see our true selves.

MANY FACES OF....

This is a great picture. How many faces do you see?
We show different faces to the world at different times. We can appear happy, sad, troubled, friendly, hostile, secretive, honest, consoling, mysterious, and so on....
But what face is the true face? What do we really feel inside?
Unfortunately, when we speak to someone, we don't know if we're seeing their true face or the face they are determined to show to the world. Given the circumstances, we could make an educated guess. But it is just a guess. Only the person who owns the face knows his true self. And maybe we don't really want to know what he or she is thinking.
