TO DREAM

When night comes softly
On feet as light as air,
I can see clearly
Of what I shouldn’t care.
Alone on this hilltop
With the embracing cold,
Boundaries cannot stop
Me from being so bold.
I want to look at the night,
Gaze out into the unknown,
Dare to dream of my flight,
And dream of where I have flown.
Secrets hidden in darkness,
Beneath a cloak of despair.
Shadows roaming in blackness,
A striking and deadly pair.
At night I can roam free
And sail forth on gossamer wings.
Be all that I can be
No matter what the dark night brings.

SILENCE

Desolate.
Alone.
Stark.
Cold.
Empty.
Sitting on a hill.
No houses nearby.
Only the comfort
of a bare tree.
The wind rattles
through my open beams.
Snow drifts in from my roof.
No peace.
Only cold.
And deafening silence.
Will it always be so?
Will the sun shine ever again?
Will horses return to my stables?
I could only wait and hope.

MY ONE AND ONLY

Source:

Come with me away from it all.
Let’s climb a hill that’s really tall.
An island for me and you,
And skies that are clear and blue.

We will take long walks on the sand,
And don’t forget to take my hand.
I will never feel alone or lonely.
I will always have my one and only.

DARE TO DREAM

DARE TO DREAM

And sail forth on gossamer wings.

ICY COLD

Ice Fire

Cold.
Icy cold.
Toes are numb.
Fingers are tingling.
I can see my breath.
I can hear the wind blowing.
Whipping past my face.
I’m getting tired.
But I must continue on.
To the top of the hill.
The view is waiting for me.
I can’t disappoint it
or myself.
Only a few more steps.
And…
It has taken my breath away.
The colors.
The sharp edges.
Prettier than a picture.
Perfect in its beauty.

DREAM A DREAM

elinka:

A small cabin perched on a green hill.
The closest house is on the nearby hill.
Quiet rules the day.
The sun shines bright and clear.
The wind ruffles the slope of green grass.
The lone tree beckons for someone to
sit beneath it.
To sit in its shade with a book in one hand
and a glass of lemonade in the other.
Come and join my dream.

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 116

What secrets are buried in Oasis, Florida? Who lives in the quaint gingerbread house and who are they watching?

Anna led them across the front room, which was furnished with antique couches and chairs. To the right, Linda stole a quick glimpse of the dining room with its beautiful crystal chandelier and large dining room set. On the left, she had already seen the quaint living room with its flowery curtains and ornate antique furniture.
They climbed the narrow staircase, which was set back behind the front desk. At the top, Linda looked around and was startled to find that the house was much larger inside than it had appeared from the outside. As they followed the long hallway, they were shown five bedrooms: each with its own unique color scheme and furniture. The first room on the right was done all in pink with white and gold furniture. Toys were scattered about the room with dolls lined up on the bed—as if the inhabitant was expected to return at any moment.
The room to the immediate left was decorated in blue, with boys’ dark furniture and toys. The next two bedrooms, on either side of the hallway, also displayed children’s furniture and belongings: one with green furnishings and the other one with purple. The last bedroom, straight ahead, belonged to Abe and Anna.
Linda was entranced by the rooms and all the furnishings. When Anna requested for them to visit the attic, Linda agreed. She hoped the attic was full of old clothes and items from the past.
They climbed a narrow staircase that descended from a trap door in the hall’s ceiling. They discovered the attic to be bare, except for the lone rocking chair that was facing the gravel road leading out of town. Linda walked over to gaze out the small triangular window, when the chair began to rock by itself.
Anna said, “Everyone in the family takes turns watching the supposedly deserted mansion down the dirt road, and End House at the edge of the dark mountain. Both spots can be clearly seen from this vantage point.”
Linda realized that this meant that someone was actually sitting in the chair—right at that moment— causing it to start rocking. She didn’t ask any more questions, but just grabbed Shana’s arm and pulled her out of the room, bidding the couple a hasty goodbye. She didn’t think that she could remain in this unnatural house one moment longer without either screaming or pulling her hair out. She was freaking out over the house and the strange story that she’d been just told.

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 90

Father John must be in his late fifties, guessed Linda, but he appeared very strong and rugged-looking for a man his age. He also seemed to be troubled. His eyes darted around as if he expected to be overheard by someone, even though the church was empty and quiet.
After Linda finished with her story, the Father began his. “I’ve always believed that there was something wrong with this town. I’ve sensed the evil brewing beneath the surface all these years, getting ready to explode at any moment. The older residents are very reclusive during the day. Twice a year, a huge party is thrown at Diane’s house. These parties are given at night—just like all their other activities. Secret meetings at their homes take place only in the dead of night. They never attend church, but seem to hide indoors during the day.
“I’ve remained living here only because I’ve wanted to keep a vigilant watch over the town and its strange inhabitants. Every year, a tourist disappears and very little is mentioned about it in the town paper or by the townspeople. Sheriff Sam makes an effort to investigate the disappearances, but nothing is ever solved.”
“Do you believe that the ones responsible are human?” Shana asked. Linda knew that Shana had strange premonitions about the town: her cards had always pointed to some kind of supernatural being.
“Over the years, I’ve asked myself that same question many times. Once I even tried to pursue this inquiry. A few years ago, I decided to follow the line of limousines to one of Diane’s secret parties. I climbed a tree in the dark and peeked into one of her upstairs windows. In a very dark room, men and women were sitting around a long table, dressed in long black robes with hoods covering their heads and faces. It appeared as if they were waiting for someone to arrive and occupy the empty seat at the head of the table.
“The door swung open, and in walked Charles Wolf, who sat in the large empty chair. He was also wearing a long black robe, but his hood was back. He glared out the window—right at the spot where I was hiding. Afraid that I’d been spotted, I quickly fled the scene. I’ve never returned to the hill nor spoken to anyone about what I saw or thought I saw.”

THE DEAD WALK AT NIGHT

WHO ARE THE DEAD?
What happens at the secret parties on the hill? Why do the hill residents only party at night? They are never seen during the day.
Do the dead bodies washing up on shore have anything to do with these residents? And where are the tourists who have been disappearing from the hotel?
Linda and her friends must figure out what is happening to their once peaceful town. With two of their own missing, they must uncover the one controlling The Dead and everyone else in town.
