TWISTING AND TURNING

Source:

The world twists and turns.
It squeezes us dry like sponges
until we have no strength to fight.
I can’t keep my eyes open any longer
and watch the mad parade of colors.
Hurricanes, poverty, violence, shootings.
Red will soon hide the greens and blues.
Madness will descend and replace the stars.
The moon will hide its face from the night.
The sun will no longer send its rays of warmth.
Mankind will be alone to fend off the darkness.
Twisting, turning, squeezing
until nothing remains of mankind.

THE OCEAN ROARS IN FURY

The ocean roars in fury.
As it washes away any intruders
from its gilded surface.
No boats to drift in its waters.
No swimmers to play in its waves.
Its anger is against all who
dare to enter its domain.
It lifts its arms in frustration.
It directs its violence against its shores.
No beach goers to lie in the sun.
All is dark.
All is quiet.
We must watch and wait.
Before we are allowed entry
into its vast domain.
Will we be worthy?
Is mankind ever worthy?
Will its waters recede?
The decision lies in the depths
of the deep ocean.

FOLLOW THE CANDLES

blackoutraven:

THE DARK HALLWAY AT END HOUSE

As they continued along the long hallway, the candles in front of them lit up…while the ones behind them went dark. It was leading them somewhere but where?
On the right wall, a third door hung open with steps leading down to the basement. Louise refused to move forward another step. “I don’t want to go down into the basement of this house. It could have a dungeon or even a torture chamber.”
Mike glared back at her over his shoulder. “You have the choice of either remaining here alone or following us downstairs.”
Louise couldn’t believe how cruel Mike was to her. She was used to men flirting with her and doing things for her; she used to be very popular before she’d arrived in this town. But she didn’t know how to deal with a man who didn’t seem to like her at all. For now…she would just follow along.
The steps were slippery without any railings for support, forcing them to grab hold of the slimy walls. After making their way down the wet stairs, they heard the door slam shut behind them. Mike ran back up the stairs. “Now we have to continue forward, since there’s no other way out,” Mike said with a new quiver to his voice.
Mike wasn’t so brave anymore. Louise was distracted by a cold wetness. The dampness was coming from her feet: her feet were wet. She looked down and was horrified to find herself standing in a basement filled with water—water that reached above her ankles and covered most of her leg. She couldn’t understand it; the water had not been there a second ago. A whole pool of water couldn’t just appear on a whim from out of nowhere.

PARTY AT END HOUSE

PARTY AT END HOUSE

End House sits perched at the edge
of a steep cliff, overlooking the ocean.
If you have to make a quick getaway,
it’s a  long drop to the beach.
It’s even longer with flying creatures
trying to knock you off the face of the mountain.

  • Something is happening at End House tonight.
The animals can sense it.
The Dead can sniff it.
And the humans…
they have no idea.
They are coming for a party.
But they will be faced with
much more than a party.
Come join us!

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 60

Impatient with both of them, Todd dragged them through the swarms of worms. Once they were outside the room, Linda gave a sigh of relief.  The persistent worms were locked in the bedroom, behind the door that had concealed itself into the wall.
The next room turned out to be a huge library. Its four walls were lined with books, all the way up to the high, carved, domed ceiling.
Todd moved over to one wall of books, withdrawing one book at random. “The books are real in a fake house.”  The book was Grimm’s Fairytales.  He added, “A very appropriate book for this situation.”
He walked over to the desk. “Of course, no papers on the desk or in the drawers.”
Shana was spinning a large globe standing on the floor beside the desk. When she glanced down at it, she was startled to see that the globe portrayed a world without land but only water. “The person running this show has a weird perception of reality. His world consists only of water without land or people. Maybe he wants to get rid of everyone and live on this mountain all by himself,” she said.
“Or maybe he wants to live on this whole planet by himself,” Linda remarked, adding to Shana’s myopic explanation for the reasoning behind the fake party.
