BUDS OF HOPE

BUDS OF HOPE
In midst of despair and sorrow
rise buds of hope for the morrow.
Still standing upright and strong
against all that can go wrong.
These are extreme times of confusion and change,
media expanding over a broader range.
We are attacked by sounds in each direction,
leaving no time for thinking and reflection.
These flowers know what’s real,
they go by what they feel.
Away from the hustle and bustle,
they grow wild without any tussle.
A day to clear my cluttered mind is all I need,
to recharge my battery is what I should heed.
I’ll recharge in a quiet place like this,
a zest for life is what I dearly miss.

DARK HUMOR

How can this be real?
I don’t know what I feel.
He’s a demon to me,
who won’t set me free.

THE QUESTION

What is reality?
Do we see what is
actually around us?
Or is there a another reality?
A reality that we can’t see;
that we aren’t ready to see yet.
Will it ever come into focus?
Into a clarity that will reveal all.
The reason for our existence.
The reason for the world
as we know it.
Look closer.
Peer through the murkiness.
Find your own reality.

FACE VALUE

Look deeper.
Delve deeper inside.
Face value is worthless.
A face doesn’t reflect the truth.
It doesn’t reveal the true person.
You might like what you find
or you might not.

THE REAL ME

This is the real me.
The me behind the mask.
I may seem bright and happy,
but underneath I’m deadly.
Deadly serious about those
who provoke me.
Keep your distance from me
and from all of THE DEAD.
For we do not make friends
but only enemies.

SEND IN THE CLOWNS!

I’m every nightmare you ever had, I am your worst dream come true. I’m everything you ever were afraid of!

Who doesn’t love a clown?
It represents the outside face
we show the world.
Inside is who we really are.
Clowns could be fun but
they could also be your
deepest and darkest nightmare.

WHAT IS REALITY?

80slove:

Edward Scissorhands, 1990

What is reality?
Is it the picture perfect street with no people?
Is it the haunted house loaded with spirits?
Or is it the everyday humdrum life we lead?
It’s a combination of both—it’s the perfect dream
or the dark nightmare that we make into our own reality.

REAL OR JUST AN ILLUSION?

Welcome to the mansion at Oasis.
It appears to be deserted.
Linda and her friend Shana
decide to see if anyone is at home.
The are met at the entrance by
a tall man with two growling dobermans.
After the man quiets his dogs,
he introduces himself as “James”
and invites them in for a tour.
They find the inside furnished with
ornate pictures and furniture
from the past century.
James leads them past room after empty room.
There are no other people or servants present.
Linda begins to feel that the house and its owner
are just an elaborate illusion.
Similar to the illusions they had
faced at End House.
Their small town is being controlled by
an evil creature.
They just have to figure out who he is.
Is he the leader of THE DEAD?

WHAT'S REAL?

plizm:

untitled by Lostmuzak on Flickr.

Is reality on the inside or the outside?
Are we in a drab room,
looking out at the sunset?
Or we standing outside by the water
with a fake room around us?
If we try to leave the room,
will a door shut us in or will
we be able to walk outside?
Where do we want to be?
The room offers shelter and comfort,
while the outside offers adventure and freedom.
Once we know the answer to this question, then
we will know if the walls will lift away for us.

ILLUSION

WHAT DO YOU SEE
WHEN YOU GAZE
OUT THE WINDOW?
DO YOU SEE
WHAT IS OUTSIDE?
OR DO YOU SEE
WHAT YOU WANT TO SEE?
OR MAYBE A COMBINATION OF BOTH?

OUR MINDS

SOME OF US HAVE A SKEWERED TAKE ON REALITY.
WHAT IS REAL AND WHAT ISN’T?
IT IS ALL IN OUR MINDS
AND HOW WE PERCEIVE REALITY.

THE TRUE FACE

thomasspieler:

Face I by Thomas Spieler
WHAT IS IN A FACE?
WHAT IS BEHIND THE FACES WE SEE?
DO THESE FACES REFLECT THEIR OWNERS’ TRUE FEELINGS?
DO WE APPEAR ON THE OUTSIDE THE WAY WE FEEL INSIDE?
I KNOW I DON’T.
WE HIDE OUR FEELINGS BEHIND OUR FACES,
LIKE A PROTECTIVE SHIELD.
