The mist hides the screams,

darkening the blood to black.

Fingers grab the trees for help,

trembling in the fading light.

No one is there to see them.

No one is there to hear them.

As if they never existed.

THE QUESTION

What is reality?

Do we see what is

actually around us?

Or is there a another reality?

A reality that we can’t see;

that we aren’t ready to see yet.

Will it ever come into focus?

Into a clarity that will reveal all.

The reason for our existence.

What a conundrum.

Each one leads to a miracle.
A miracle of nature.
Where did nature come from?
Who knows?

It exists.
It’s beautiful.
And we should enjoy it.

HOLD YOUR HEAD HIGH

Do you feel invisible?
People walk by you in the street,
and don’t bother to say hello.
They don’t bother to
acknowledge your existence.
Who are they to think
so highly of themselves?
Are they any better than you?
Have they discovered
the cure for cancer?
No.
But they think they’re better.
Just an illusion.
Just a misconception of themselves
and their self-worth.
Don’t allow them to put you down.
If you do, then you’re giving them
power they don’t deserve.
Don’t ignore them.
Don’t play their game.
Look them in the eye and force them
to acknowledge your existence.
Hold your head up high.

ONE ACT OF KINDNESS

One act of kindness is worth so much more.
It gives back to a world that has given us life.
It provides a reason for the existence of mankind.
A reason for us to have been given life and a spot
in the immense universe.

THE OCEAN

I love watching the waves.
The ocean stretches as far as the eye could see.
It has been here before my existence,
and it will continue after my existence.
It embodies strength and resistance.
It will continue on despite what
humanity does to it.

NATURE

YOU CAN’T STOP NATURE.
YOU CAN’T TRAP IT.
YOU CAN’T KILL IT.
IT CONTINUES ON.
IT CAN’T BE STOPPED.
IT EXISTED BEFORE US.
IT WILL CONTINUE ON AFTER US.
