THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 165

Linda and her friends were afraid that three of their own were part of The Dead. The ranks of evil were closing in on them.

They next checked Judy’s apartment, which also appeared to be unoccupied. The walls and floors were painted black. Black blinds covered the windows.
Shana was amazed that a woman could have no possessions. The closets were empty; the woman had no clothes or shoes. Even the bathroom walls were painted a dull black color. The bathroom counter was bare of any lotions, creams, or even a toothbrush. She opened the mirrored cabinet above the sink and found it empty. What a weird lady.
“At least Ryan’s apartment had white walls, not these depressing black walls,” Shana said.
“Let’s get out of here. This place is giving me the creeps.” David began to back out of the apartment.
They ran across the walkway to Gregg’s apartment. Inside, they found his rooms to be vacant and closed up tight. “I had thought that human vampires were able to live in the light?” Linda asked.
“That’s right; there’s no reason for all this darkness if they’re human,” Sam said.
“Maybe they’re not human anymore, but have joined The Dead,” Shana said.
“Could they have switched groups so easily?” asked Linda. “How could they have become vampires if they were already human vampires?”
“It can easily happen. If a vampire bit them, fully draining the blood out of their bodies and replacing it with his own vampire blood, then they would become vampires themselves. Afterward, if they chose to live on human blood instead of animal blood, then they could turn vicious and deadly like The Dead,” Todd said. “I suppose we should now search for them at the hotel. I don’t want to consider the awful possibility of having to fight Judy, Gregg, and Ryan to the death.”

PICTURE PERFECT

atraversso:
By - Sergey Timakov
Why are the most beautiful and peaceful pictures
the ones without people?
Open roads and wide open spaces.
Views of water and land, without people.
A wild deer or wolf wouldn’t detract from
this beauty.
But a person would.
Does mankind mar the beauty of nature?
Do we as a species ruin everything we touch?
Let’s think about this as we gaze out
at the calm water and blue sky.

A RAY OF HOPE

The world can be a dark place.
It can bring sadness and despair.
But just when things are looking the darkest,
a little light shine shines through the inky darkness.
A ray of hope.
Search for your ray of hope that
will guide you back to the land of the living.
The world can be a dark place.

But just when things are looking the darkest,
a little light shine shines through the inky darkness.

THE END IS NEAR

Why is there a lamp post standing
in the middle of the forest?
It’s not lit up.
There’s no one around but me.
And some creepy mist or fog
swirling through the trees.
I could hear a wolf’s howl
in the distance.
A cold breeze hits me, flowing
right through my body.
What is going on?
And why am I here?
Is this a nightmare?
But it feels so real.
I could feel the rocks
beneath my bare feet.
Why am I barefooted?
And why am I dressed in
a nightgown?
I hear something!
The lights flicker on
in the lamp post.
How did that happen?
There are no chords
attached to it.
Maybe I’m not alone.
Maybe I should run.
I can’t!
My feet are stuck to the ground!
My end is near.
THE DEAD have come for me.
THE DEAD GAME has begun.

SHOULD WE GO DOWN TO THE BASEMENT?

darkestdee:

The staircase leads down to
the basement of End House.
Where is the party?
We had expected food
and balloons.
Instead, traps and illusions
are waiting for us.
Should we continue further?
Or should we turn back?
No good could come of this.
Who would invite us
to a fake party?
And why?
We must find out who is
controlling our town.
Who is killing the residents
of Oasis?
We won’t stop searching until
we find some answers.
The Dead Game has begun.

Beautiful flower.
So simple and elegant.
Resembling a ballerina
twirling on a stage.
What more is needed?

THE HAUNTED HOUSE

Creepy house.
Dark and deserted.
Overgrown lawn.
Wind rustling through
the fallen leaves.
Total quiet.
No footsteps or
sounds of life.
That’s how I like it:
the creepier the better.

LEAVE THE DARKNESS BEHIND

Go outside.
Leave the darkness behind.
You won’t be disappointed.

DON'T GET THE DEAD ANGRY

minarachelle:

What if the dead get angry
and they refuse to remain underground?
Do they rise up in the dark of night?
Do they move through the deserted streets?
Who can stop them?
Can they be stopped?

YOUR WORST NIGHTMARE

Visit your nightmares.
Walk through the gates of hell.
A castle is waiting in the distance.
Waiting for you to enter.
What can be inside?
Is it as bad as our worst nightmare?
It might be even worse.
You won’t know until you enter End House.

FALLING

Falling, falling, falling…
Down into the nether reaches
of End House.
Where there is nothing but darkness
and endless space.
Hands reaching for me,
faces leering at me.
I can’t grab hold of the walls!
They’re slimy and wet.
Is there an end to this?
What will happen when
I hit bottom?
Help!

WHAT ARE YOU THINKING MR. FOX?

Fantastic Mr. Fox Doesn’t Feel So Fantastic

What might he be pondering?
Did he lose a friend?
Is he sad because he’s alone?
Do you ever want to be inside
an animal’s head to hear his thoughts?
Do you think they might be
similar to our thoughts?
They might be.
All we know is that he isn’t planning
on revenge.
Animals’ thoughts are less calculating
and purer than ours.
So what are you thinking Mr. Fox?

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 164

Who could they trust? Could their friends, Ryan, Judy, and Gregg, be part of The Dead? Was there no one left to trust in Oasis?

As Sam drove down the hill, he explained their new predicament. “We still have many lingering doubts about Judy, Ryan, and Gregg. They disappeared both times there was trouble: first at End House and then at Wolf’s house. They didn’t even bother to attend Diane’s party, which is mandatory for all human vampires. And today, they just calmly watched through the window as Todd fought for his life, without stepping in to help.”
“So, it’s not over—just when I thought that life was going back to normal,” David said.
“I’m driving over to the hotel to check for them while Todd and Linda search through their rooms,” Sam said.
“I don’t think that we should separate. If they’re part of The Dead, then they’re much stronger than all of us put together,” Shana said.
“Okay, we’ll follow their car to the apartment,”  Sam said.
They pulled up behind Todd’s car, which was already parked in front of his apartment. They watched as Todd ran out, clutching a master key.
The four of them followed Todd and Linda into Ryan’s
apartment. It was empty of any furnishings or belongings. The window shades were closed, blocking any light from filtering through. There wasn’t even a bed in the apartment, Shana realized, just pitch-black, empty rooms.
“Do vampires own any furniture? Do they even sleep in beds?” Shana asked while looking around the unfurnished apartment.
“We’re human vampires. We need furniture and beds—just like you do. We also require food, since we don’t drink blood,” Sam said, searching through the empty refrigerator and the bare kitchen cabinets.
