PERSEVERANCE

PERSEVERANCE
We suffer illnesses and deaths.
We fight to survive.
Why?
Why does a flower bloom
during an early frost?
Hope.
Hope for warmer days ahead.
We hope for better times.
Hope keeps us alive and warm.

A RADIANCE FROM WITHIN

Nature has its own beauty.
Its radiance comes from within.
Blossoming from a mere seed
To give color and light to the world.

YELLOW

A flower is a perfect spot.
The yellow looks scrumptious to me.
Pink flowers will be my next stop.
I’m happy as a buzzing bee.

Spreading joy through the leafy green.
Nectar to my toes through my nose.
Stopping here and there in between.
Sharing everywhere like a hose.

I CRY ALONE IN THE NIGHT

I cry alone in the dark of night.
The sun refuses to share the light.
Lit by a fire from within.
Moonlight hits me like a sharp pin.
I grow paler by the day.
In this world, I cannot stay.
Without light, I will die.
My white petals will fly.
I’m left to be a thin stick
As I grow tired and sick.

THE BLUE

The blue sucks me in.
Velvet petals caress my face.
A buzzing bee whizzes past.
I’m inside the midnight blue darkness.
My head spins from its heady fragrance.
Lines of poetry beg to be written.
Will I yield to the blue darkness?
It’s a trap I cannot escape.

ROSE PETALS

My tears fall like rose petals,
dripping down their long stem.
No hope left in my heart
for us to be together again.
I lay my head down in sorrow
beside the wilted petals of my despair.

THE LIGHT FROM WITHIN

THE LIGHT FROM WITHIN
A force of nature.
Part the purple leaves,
and you’ll see it.
The orange glow.
The life force that shimmers within,
Transcending time and space.
The eternity of nature.

INNOCENT

Come closer to touch my petals.
See how they are rough and pointy.
Move closer to my open mouth.
I am hungry for your sweetness.
A yummy meal to be had today.
An innocent flower I am not.

A LIFE FORCE

Light radiates from within.
Part the purple leaves,
And you’ll see it.

PERSEVERANCE

Our life takes its toll.
Our hope keeps us whole.
We persevere through pain.
But it’s not all in vain.
We hold our heads up high.
Continue with a sigh.
The flower fights winter cold.
And if I might be so bold.
We can fight our ills too.
Hold on to our hope too.

PRETTY LIKE ME?

Can anything be as pretty as me?
What about this flower on the tree?
I will fly high to get it.
This hummingbird can reach it.
It tastes so good in my tummy.
Who knew it would be so yummy?

A BED OF FLOWER

A bed of flower.
A fragrant power.
Petals in my face.
Such a perfect place.
I’ll soon be asleep.
So don’t make a peep.

DICHOTOMY

love-personal

DICHOTOMY
Shades of purple and green.
Colors so neat and clean.
Unfolding to the sun.
A shape perfect and fun.
It beckons to come near.
To smell its sweet, green hair.
You reach out to touch it.
In pain you turn from it.
So pretty to the eye.
It holds its sword up high.
