Take steady steps.

Back straight.
Walk forward.
Not only will you make it far
but you will have followers.

On its quest.
To reach the end.
It can be hard to follow.
Using up your strength.
Taking away your breath.
But soldier on.
The end will be worth it.

Never give up.
Keep your head up high,
little one.
Keep on fighting.
No matter how hard, or
how fruitless it may seem.
The road my be long and bumpy.
Full of pot holes and road blocks.
It is worth it.
It is always worth it.

WEB OF LIES

Have you ever been caught
in a web of your own deceit?
A web of lies that grew
out of control.
One lie leading to the next.
So much easier to be truthful.
No lies to remember.
Easier on your brain and on others.
Stick to the truth or
be stuck in your own web.

A leap of faith into the unknown.
Who can you trust?
Is there anyone in your life
that you can trust with yours?
A hard question to ask.
An even harder question to answer.

ROADBLOCKS IN LIFE

Life can follow a straight path.
A perfect path for us to follow.
At times this path can
be filled with manholes.
Roadblocks on our journey.
We must overcome these
and all others,
before we can ride on.
Why are some paths straighter?
Why are some paths easier?
It is not our place to ask
but only to follow.

We walk a long road.
A road we must follow.
No one can alter it but us.
We can move forward or back.
We can move fast or slow.
The choice is up to us.

The colors and patterns to be found.
Textures abound from soft to rock solid.
Sounds radiate through the air
from strands of music to soft cries.
The tastes to be experienced from
the different foods across the world.
If you take the time to see, hear, and taste,
the possibilities can be endless.

Does life seem dark and lonely?
Does the road seem long and bumpy?
Too many roadblocks in the way.
Do you see the bright light at the end of the road?
If you work hard, then you’ll reach it.
Anything worthwhile in life is worth the wait.
