NEW BEGINNINGS

The rain falls in a constant rhythm,
A soothing and mesmerizing sound.
Tree branches weigh down with water,
Dripping tears for the absent sun.
Flowers lift their faces for washing,
Soon shiny and crisp from the drops.
The sky clears and the clouds spin dry,
As the sun returns to herald its return.
A new day dawns around us,
New beginnings for our slice of paradise.

VISIT OUR OASIS

A place of fantasy.
A place of darkness.
A place to be visited.

TAKE ME AWAY

Take me away to better times.
To sun-drenched beaches.
To waving palm trees.
To rolling waves.
To better places.
To warm trade winds.
To white-sand beaches.
To bright sunshine.
To us.

MAUSOLEUM

Cypress Lawn Memorial Park

Evil waits for you and me.
Beneath the tall cypress tree.
It comes in the dark of night.
Won’t leave without a good fright.
The mausoleum is dark.
We only came on a lark.
Time for us to run and go.
The wind says, “I don’t think so.”

RAINDROPS ON MY MIND

Raindrops on my mind.
A feeling of cleanliness.
How can we resist its pull?
It draws us to the window
to watch its majestic descent to earth.
It washes away all dirt and impurities.
The dirt left by humanity.
Wash me.
Make me fresh and new once again.
Who can ask for anything more?

YOUR NIGHTMARE WILL NEVER END

darkestdee:

The house from my nightmares exists.
Is it real or part of my vivid imagination?
Is part of its facade a skull?
Does this mean that death lives here?
"Yes" the wind echoes.
THE DEAD live here.
Come and meet them.

  • The candles are leading us
down a dark hallway.
No one seems to be home at End House.
But the house is beckoning us.
It wants us to follow the flickering lights.
Should we go down to the basement?
What could be awaiting us there?
It can’t be anything good.

Once you begin to read,
your nightmare will never end.
You will hunted and pursued
through dark houses, revolving rooms,
deadly traps, and never-ending horrors.
There’s no rest for the weary in Oasis.

OUTSIDE

From inside my dark room,
I watch the clouds float by.
Puffy cottonballs in the sky.
Dare I leave my safe haven
and venture outside?
Will the clouds wait for me?
I’ll wait until tomorrow.
One more day of watching.

BLINDED BY THE LIGHT

All is dark.
Until the moon find us.
Hits us with its spotlight.
Blinds us with its glow.
Reveals us to the night.
All we want is darkness.
Respite from the sun.
Sleep for the weary.
Good night moon.

IT’S ALIVE

Dark shadows follow me.
Moonlight teases me.
I’m trapped in hell,
where the sun doesn’t shine.

TROPICAL PARADISE

Mosquitoes for companions

Exotic plants fan our faces

Mosquitoes for companions

Exotic plants fan our faces

Snapping sounds taunt us
as we canoe down the river.
The tempo quickens.
The beat picks up.
The air becomes heavier.
The sounds louder.
We become one with nature.
Lost in a tropical paradise.

TIME IS UP

I love this picture! It brings many images to mind. Climb the stairs. Your time is limited. Reach the top before it’s too late. Before time stops and so do you.

Climb the stairs.
Reach the top
before it’s too late.
Before time stops.

LIFE EMERGES

In the midst of darkness and despair, life emerges. Life is persistent. It continues on despite death and misfortune. It can always be counted upon to bring forth new light.

In the midst of darkness,
life emerges.
It walks
the streets.
It flies
in the skies.
It swims
the waves.
Life is persistent.

GREY

Drab walk of life.
Day to day existence.
Dark shadows fading.
Grey becomes the norm.
One day becomes the next.

Rainbows of light reflect off the walls.

The music stops.
The dancers stand still.

FOLLOW THE LIGHTS

FOLLOW THE LIGHTS

Follow the lights to the house of glass.
There will be much splendor in the grass.
Lights in the trees as far as the eye could see.
A more decadent event there could not be.
Champagne will be flowing until the wee hours.
Come with me and dance among the pretty flowers.
This room full of guests gives me a chill.
Maybe we should leave I’ve had my fill.
Eyes are following us in the room.
They will be upon us all too soon.
The guests are not what they appear.
Beneath they are just bones and hair.
