SHE HAUNTS ME

Glass figures adorn the house.
Quiet as a sleeping mouse.
Do they wake with the sun
To have some bit of fun?
This one is on a bed
With a hat on her head.
Were her eyes once brown?
Do they haunt the town?
I must get of this place.
I can still see her...

Were her eyes once brown?
Do they haunt the town?
I must leave this place.
I can see her face.
She will haunt my nights.
So will the dead sights.

THE GREENHOUSE

Source:

A green house in Florida.
Greenery and wildlife to the brim.
Trees with life of their own.
Birds unseen but heard.
Limbs reaching.
Grabbing for the next visitor.
Snakes slithering in their cages.
Wings flapping in the next room.
Surprises in store.
And so much more.
Come and join us.

THE DARK FOREST

Come and visit.
Follow the line of trees.
Where do you think it leads?
Deep into a forest.
Down a dark road to a haunted house.
You will never know unless you start walking.
Ignore the moans and screams, it’s just the animals.
The howling are from a pack of wild dogs.
They like people very much.
It is safe to walk farther on.
Don’t look back, face forward, and walk.
Soon you’ll be reaching your destination.
Be prepared for anything.
Don’t be afraid.

Anything is a possibility.
Come and visit us.
Follow the line of trees.
Where does it lead?
Deep into a forest.
Down a dark road.

Ignore the moans and screams.
They are just animals.
A pack of wild dogs are howling.
They love people.
It is safe for you to walk into the forest.
Don’t look back.

Face forward and walk.
Soon you’ll be reaching your destination.
Be prepared for anything.
Don’t be afraid.

A party at the deserted End House
is waiting for you.
And so are The Dead.

DEADLY PATH

DEADLY PATH

A path in the woods begs to be taken.
I will follow it and not be shaken.
I won't let chills overcome me.
The dark creatures will let me be.

I am going to the secret party.
I will return home alive and hearty.
A party in the woods can't be beat.
I can already feel the growing heat.

Up ahead I can see a dark house.
I sneak up as quiet as a mouse.
I walk inside the open door.
Who could ask for anything more?

No one is waiting inside.
Maybe they're waiting to hide.
A line of candles lead down the hall.
There is something moving in the wall.

It's time for me to leave this strange place.
I see a figure without a face.
It's time for me to go now
Without taking my last bow.

CREEPY, CREEPY, SCARY

Creepy, creepy, scary.

This can become hairy.

The house is haunted and dark.

I came on a simple lark.

But now that I'm here,

I'm frozen with fear.

A party is to be held for us all,

But to evil creatures we might just fall.

Down to the basement we go,

This is silly even I know.

Saws are swinging up ahead,

Looking to chop off a head.

Traps are falling from the low ceiling.

My wet feet are losing all feeling.

We are standing in a pool.

And I feel like a big fool.

We should have gone when we had a chance.

The creatures will make us sing and dance.

The Dead have a morbid sense of humor;

Should have listened to every rumor.

Goodbye to one and all.

I see the bouncing ball.

THE DEAD GAME -- DAY 122

Todd drove through the quiet town. No lights shone through any windows; even the street lights were off. Not a very good setting for tonight’s activities.
Linda continued with her earlier pretense of being annoyed with him and joined Shana in the back seat instead of up front next to him. He smiled at her through the rear view mirror, amused at her cute attempts to preserve her dignity.
Mike and David were waiting for them in front of their store with Shirley by their side. They were dressed in tuxedos while Shirley wore a short pink flouncy dress. They huddled together as protection from the heavy winds that blew leaves and dust around them. Todd opened the passenger’s door for Shirley.
Mike stepped off the curb and said, “We picked up Shirley at her store, since we didn’t want her to wait alone. The town is really eerie tonight: the weather started out warm with calm winds and then all of a sudden, the lights went out and the winds started to crazily pick up speed. The streets are deserted; no one seems to be around.”
He squeezed into the back seat with David and continued, “The stage is definitely being set for tonight: we have the deserted town, the lights going out, and the strong winds. All we now need is a haunted house and some demons, and then we’ll be all ready for tonight’s entertainment.”
Todd didn’t appreciate Mike’s theatrics. “The weather in this town is very unpredictable: it constantly changes from calm to stormy. But this doesn’t mean that something evil is afoot tonight.”
Shana giggled. “I like the word ‘afoot’—it gives a spooky aura to everything.” Todd was thankful that Shana was helping him to put everyone at ease. He was worried enough about this evening, and he didn’t need to worry about Mike upsetting everyone unnecessarily.
“Doesn’t Todd look adorable with his date, Shirley?” asked Shana.
“I didn’t know they were going out,” said David.
“Of course we aren’t going out, my dear boy,” said Shirley with a twinkle in her eye, “but I wouldn’t mind being Todd’s date for the evening.”
“It will be my pleasure, madam,” responded Todd.
