SILENT FEET

SILENT FEET

Source:

They walk on silent feet
through the forest so deep.
I must keep moving my feet
without stopping to sleep.

The howling wind plays their song
of bloody deaths for us all.
They’re not for this place for long.
They wait for the town to fall.

They are surrounding me.
I can’t outrun their reach.
Somehow I must get free
and make it to the beach.

The ground is opening.
Sadly I know for whom.
I’m falling in a hole
that will soon be my tomb.

FALLING

A heart-shaped pool
to break my fall.
A cold wetness
to entomb me.
Depths to reach
beneath the surface.
I am falling.
No one to catch me.
But cold wetness.

A DARK DESTINY

ALONE IN A CEMETERY

cemetery shadows

ALONE IN A CEMETERY
The mist paints a grey.
Hissing winds sound fey.
The trees sway in tune
Under the blue moon.
With long robes, they sweep toward me.
Darker shadows they cannot be.
A statue looms in the distance.
I cannot offer resistance.
An angel turns her face to me.
A wicked grin for all to see.
Her white wings spread wide.
Time for me to hide.

HELP ME

Something is pulling me back.
Keeping me in this place.
A mausoleum paradise.
A hand is pulling me under.
Back into my hole.
I refuse to go back.
I refuse to be dead.

BLACK DESPAIR

Red leaves cover the trees.
Red blood coats the grass.
Darkness entombs the town.
Black despair follows all.

ALONE

Walking alone in
a cemetery at night.
The mist swaying.
The wind moaning.
Shadows appearing.
Then disappearing.
Leading me somewhere.
Or maybe following me.
A statue looms ahead.
A tall statue.
Taller than the mausoleums.
 It’s moving.
Coming closer.
Time to run.
Walking in a graveyard at night
may not have been such a good idea.
Ouch!
It scratched me!

PULLING ME DOWN

Something is pulling me back.
Keeping me in this place.
Graves far into the distance.
A mausoleum paradise.
A hand is pulling me under.
Back into my hole.
I refuse to go back.
I refuse to be dead.

THE DEAD

Creak.
Crunch.
The air moves.
Squeak.
Moan.
The trees shake.
I shouldn’t have come alone.
In the dark.
After the sun sets.
The moon rises.
And so do The Dead.

THE DEAD

Can you feel the quiet?
The darkness surrounds you.
Fog makes it hard to see anything.
Then you hear sounds.
Digging sounds.
Is someone digging a fresh grave?
In the middle of the night?
No.
It’s a grave, but the digging is coming from underneath.
The Dead are digging themselves out of their graves.
Run for your life!
The Dead don’t take prisoners.
Welcome to Oasis, Florida.
