PERCEPTION

Do you feel like you have a separate person inside?
A different person than the one portrayed to the world?
Do you feel young with an older person peeking out?
Or are you an old person with a younger one inside?
I’ve always felt like the same little girl inside.
My body ages but inside I’m the same.
I have the same thoughts and feelings.
I might deal with them in a more mature manner
but maybe not.

PERCEPTION

Does the doorway lead to what you see
or what you want to see?
You might be seeing trees and flowers
but darkness and clouds might be
waiting for you.
It’s all in your perception.

PERCEPTION

A perfect castle.
Beautiful turrets.
New uniforms on the palace guards.
A royal family living inside.
Is their life perfect?
Whose life is perfect?

WHAT DO WE SEE?

We see the world through our own eyes.
But what are we seeing?
Do we see reality or our own perception of reality?
Is our brain filtering out what we don't care to see?
Am I seeing the same thing as you?
I believe we all look at the world in different ways.
We could be looking at the same thing,
but seeing something entirely different.
I'd be curious to see the world through
a set of different eyes.
Who knows what these eyes might show me.
