It’s filled with colors and shapes.
Clouds drifting by.
Stars that sparkle and glisten.
Birds flying as high as they dare.
Who controls all of this?
What role do we play?
Big questions about an endless canvas.
Do we get to draw any of the lines on this canvas?
Do our actions make any difference at all?
The sky holds all the answers.

Who am I?
Am I really what I look like
on the outside?
Am I as innocent as I look?
Or do I have devious thoughts
and ulterior motives?

THE EVIL INSIDE

What do you see when you scrape away
the outer layer of skin?
What lies inside a person?
Besides organs, what is there?
Is there a soul?
A soul devoted to goodness or evil?
That is the question we should be asking
when we first meet someone.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
What is beautiful to one person,
can look ugly to another.
What matters is the beauty inside.
Nothing can mask an evil being.

Can everyone see what we think
and what we do?
Can we really hide our true
selves from others?
We are what we eat, think and do.

Do you see what everyone else sees?
Do you see your skin, hair, and eyes?
Or do you see what’s inside?
Do you see who you really are
once you peel away the bones?
You can’t help it.
You know who you are, no matter
how you present yourself to others.

or what we feel.
We have our own life experiences.
We make friends and get married,
but no one can enter our minds,
enter our complex thought processes.
We can share our life with others,
but at the end of the day,
we truly stand alone.
