A LONG HARD ROAD

If I had known it was going to be so hard,
I might have thought twice about writing my book.
We must promote our books daily.
But there are not enough hours in a day.
We must be expert jugglers.
Experts at writing, blogging, and juggling.
I must learn this dance.
This high-wire walk.
This never-ending battle.
I must learn to juggle.
I will do it.
I will do it all.
Just give me a chance.
Book two is being written.
I feel free.
I feel empowered.
I will survive.

A PLAN

Why am I never at a place like this?
Why am I always in a dark room typing?
We all make our choices,
and I have to live with mine.
Maybe…
Too many ‘maybes’ in this world.
I need one ‘could’,
and then I’m off to the tropical island.
On the way, I’ll throw my computer
into the depths of the blue, green water.
Sounds good to me.
Sounds like a plan.

CREATION

Which picture do you like best?
The snow?
The autumn?
Or all the above?
Our brains can create
many pictures in our minds.
We just have to us it well.

We can try re-create it,
but we will never be successful.
Creation has its own patent on life.

We tend to forget that we’re
just a small drop in the ocean.
We over-exaggerate our importance
and our power.
But we can never rival the breadth
and scope of the ocean.
We are just mere specks in the total
scheme of the universe.

Watching a little too much T.V.?
Sitting in front of the computer
for too many hours?
Are your eyes bugging out?
Take a break and go outside.
Life might be passing you by.

I need a place like this right now.
I need to relax
and walk away from the computer.
I’ll close my eyes and make believe
that I’m sitting under the tree.
The sun feels good on my face.
