WHERE THE WIND BLOWS

The trees of the forest shiver and shake.

Their long limbs tremble from the next quake.

Their bodies blaze a frosted white.

With tears frozen from their new plight.

The world has become hard and cold.

My trembling body feels old.

I’m surrounded on four sides by white.

The bright glare has blinded my sight.

White is the color of my nightgown

As I stand and shiver with a frown.

A shadow emerges from the trees.

I hope it is not him, pretty please.

My body moves forward against my will.

I grab a thick tree and try to hold still.

I dig my feet into the packed snow,

But I must go where the wind might blow.

WHERE THE WIND BLOWS
The trees of the forest shiver and shake,
their long limbs trembling for the next quake.
Their bodies blaze a glaring white
with tears frozen from their new plight.
The world has become hard and cold.
My trembling body feels old.
Surrounded on four sides by white,
the bright glare has blinded my sight.

WHITE BLANKET

Source:

Look to the glowing skies,
Magic before my eyes.
Snow flutters to the ground
Without even a sound.
Masking the dirt with white,
So pretty and so bright.
I hope it can remain this way,
A blanket for one more day.

I WELCOME THEE

Clean me.
Snow on me.
Wet my hair.
Fall on my eyelids.
Drench my body.
Whiten the streets.
I welcome thee
into my heart and soul.

PARTY IN A GLASS HOUSE

Snow falls.
Music floats in the air.
Inside the glass house,
the guests dance.
Their images reflect on the
sparkling walls.
Champagne flows
and so does the blood.
The clock strikes midnight.
The dance floor empties.
We are alone.
The games have begun.

MAGIC

Source:

Look up to the white skies.
Magic before my eyes.
White flutters to the ground.
Without even a sound.
Masking the dirt with white.
So pretty and so bright.
If it could remain this way.
A blanket for one more day.

THE FIRST SNOWSTORM

image

Snow covers the ground

with its white purity.

Everything is

whispered clean.

Sounds are muted.

Animals go into hiding.

A hush falls.

We’re able to take a deep breath,

step back,

and enjoy the beauty.

There’s no hurry.

Cars are buried.

Mass transit is shut down.

We have time for family

and snow ball fights.

Sleds sliding down

newly created hills.

Hot chocolate

in front of the fire.

Marshmallows roasting

on sticks.

I have my boots and gloves.

I’m ready!

A WINTER WONDERLAND

The gate is open.
I’m going inside.
I wonder who owns this property.
Is it some computer wizard
or maybe a movie star?
For now, it’s mine.
It is quiet and deserted.
No footsteps in the snow,
besides mine.
The trees extend far into the distance.
All I can see is white and more white.
A winter wonderland
created just for me.
I hear a rumbling sound
coming from beneath me.
It’s not beneath me
but next to me.
Two Doberman Pinschers
are growling up at me.
"Zeus, Apollo?"
More growling.
Time to run.
For my life.

SHOULD I?

Should I?
Or shouldn’t I?
Too many decisions
for a bear.
The weather is turning colder.
Snow is beginning to fall.
Humans are retreating
to their warm homes.
I guess it’s time for me.
Goodbye world.
Goodbye snow.
Time for a long nap.
See you in the spring.

NATURE'S GIFT

the onebyΒ werol

The perfect gift of nature.
No two are alike.
They alight onto surfaces
with the ultimate grace and ease.
Soft as a kitten’s breath.
But with a brief existence.
Catch them while you can.

FOOTSTEPS IN THE SNOW

brutalgeneration:

THE PERFECT SNOWY DAY
THE SNOW FALLS LIGHTLY ON THE GRASS.
THE SUN SHINES BRIGHT.
THE TREES HOLD THE HEAVY SNOW ON THEIR
DROOPING LIMBS.
TIME TO GO OUT AND PLAY.
LET’S LEAVE OUR FOOTSTEPS IN THE WHITE SNOW.
