SNOW IS FALLING

Snow is falling on the trees,
hanging tight to the cold leaves.
A winter wonderland in the south.
I gaze ahead and open my mouth.
A bitter taste fills my heart & soul
as I plunge into the rabbit hole.

THE DEAD GAME SERIES

THE DEAD GAME logo

Hell hath no fury like a vampire’s wrath.
They plow down whoever is in their path.
We must kill the creatures of hell,
Then we’ll have a story to tell
Of how we survived an apocalypse.
A sad but true story from our own lips.

STEP INSIDE

Step inside.
It’s dark.
Deserted.
Don’t worry.
They wait for you.
Climb the staircase.
Gargoyles stand sentry.
The games will soon begin.

IT TAUNTS ME

Horror taunts me.
It creeps closer.
I can feel it,
taste it.
It surrounds me.
I’m sealed in a coffin.
Dirt sinks me deeper.
A crack of light appears.
A peek at my tormentor.
A glimpse of hell.

THE HALLWAY

Green Hallway

The hallway waits.
It beckons.
It calls to me.
I pass closed doors.
Cries fill the air.
Coldness descends.
Total silence falls.
I inch forward,
step by painstaking step.
I peek into a room.
Wheelchairs fill the darkness.
One chair turns.
The empty seat faces me.
The room ahead
glows green.
I hear voices.
I move closer.
Men in white coats
operate on a skeleton.
They flicker,
fade,
then become transparent.
Time for me to leave.
I’m strapped to the bed.
The men in white coats peer at me.
Too late.

FRIDAY THE 13TH

1 Friday the 13th

Friday the 13th is here.
There is no need to fear.
Step into the manor.
Ignore any banter.
The party is for you,
only a select few.
I have a secret to tell,
one involving an old spell.
A witch cast her spell.
Our lives went to hell.
Beneath End House, we were banished.
Please wait, I know you must be famished.
Listen to my tale.
The bread won’t turn stale.
Banished for years, we were.
Trapped in the earth by her.
We were freed by a priest,
accompanied by a beast.
We haven’t eaten for many years.
Do not bother to shed any tears.
Please step onto the food platters.
Our hunger is all that matters.

BENEATH THE WAVES

Someone watches me from the water.
A head bobs in the shallow waves.
Yellow eyes sparkle in the sunlight.
A man rises from the waves.
A man in a wet suit.
The yellow spots must have been
a reflection from the sun.
Ouch.
I’m shot.
He shot me with a spear gun.
Too late.
I’m falling.
Will I wake to find
it had been a bad dream?
I hope so.

A HORROR TALE

Stay away from here. Death I cannot bear. I’m telling a horror tale with each wag of my fine tail. Oasis it is not. More of a horror spot. Tourists disappear into the thin air. One day they’re right here. Next day they’re nowhere. THE DEAD...

THE DEAD LOVE TO SHARE

Welcome to the land of The Dead.
The Dead are my friends.
I feast on their victims.
It’s not easy to be a bird of prey.

MANY HAVE GONE

The Battle for Oasis

Let the darkness lull me to sleep
with dreams of red sunsets.
Clouds drifting on cotton balls,
encircling me with their softness.

Let the moon’s face shine on me,

making me feel safe and secure.
The stars twinkle in merriment,
ready to tackle the night.

The day brings a new enemy

to our peaceful shore.
A dark kingdom will rise,
a new kingdom for The Dead.

All memory of our town will be wiped clean

with a mere swipe of their hands.
Rain and hail will flood the streets.
Fire will engulf the church.
A hooded figure approaches,
his gait slow and sure.
He pulls back his hood
to reveal the creature beneath.
“My dear Linda, you have waited for me.
I will have my ice queen at my side.”
Wolf quickens his stride,
but I turn my face from him.

I peek through lowered eyelashes

at his beautiful face.
He turns

and summons his army.
He whispers,
“I’m sorry you will
fall in battle like the others.
Goodbye, dearest one.”

He disappears with his followers.

I am free at last.
But I feel lost
and abandoned.
Did I want him to fight for me?
Of course not.
I would never join The Dead.
But still…
