A DEAD MAN’S DREAMS

Step inside.
A mansion is waiting.
It might appear deserted,
rundown and unused.
The inside tells
a different story.
Walk on marble floors
through rooms of delight.
Rooms of different eras,
reflecting a dead man’s dreams.
A man with no life or future,
who waits for the end of time.
A house fit for a prince
or a prince of darkness.

FOLLOW THE CURIOUS

Cobblestone by cemetery

FOLLOW THE CURIOUS

The cobblestones glisten
under the moonlight.
Gravestones peek out
in the heavy fog.
Moans sweep the winds
that rustle the lifeless trees.
A gate stands open
to welcome the curious.
Footsteps draw closer
to my hiding place.
A cloaked figure enters
the home of the dead.
It disappears inside a mausoleum
with a lone angel standing guard.
Goosebumps riddle my body
as I inch forward from my spot.
I can’t stand the suspense.
I must find the meeting place
of the dead and gone.

HAPPINESS

I’ve been dared to write a poem.
I sit here and I will show em
That I can write about bliss
But it will be hit or miss.
Happiness hasn’t been my friend.
On white wings heaven does not send.
I seek it every day.
A sneak of it I still pray
Will rain down upon me
Before I’m gone to sea.

THE OLD HOUSE

The old house stands alone,
dark and deserted,
on the overgrown lawn.
A wind rustles through the fallen leaves.
The only sound in the dead silence.
No footsteps to break the quiet.
No sounds of life to lift the spirits.
Only the dead for company.
Their spirits walk the house.
No footsteps to break the quiet.
For the dead don’t leave footprints.

WHO AM I?

Who am I?
Who was I?
A man.
A woman.
A doctor.
A soldier.
Maybe a murderer.
Does it matter?
Does it matter anymore?
We all end up the same.
Underground.
Buried.
But it is how we are
remembered
that matters.
Our memory lingers on.
Be remembered as a
doctor,
soldier,
or murderer.
It’s your choice.

GONE

giacomocarmagnola: Exclusive artwork made with the new Pixel Sort effect for the Android app “Glitch!”

GONE
I’m fading.
Fading fast.
From view.
Lost.
Alone.
Invisible.
I can’t stop.
I can’t hold on.
To life.
It’s better this way.
For all.
For mankind.
For me to leave now.
Without further ado.
I’m here.
I’m gone.
