WHERE THE WIND BLOWS

WHERE THE WIND BLOWS The trees of the forest shiver and shake, their long limbs trembling for the next quake. Their bodies blaze a glaring white with tears frozen from their new plight. The world has become hard and cold. My trembling body feels...

The trees of the forest shiver and shake.

Their long limbs tremble from the next quake.

Thick bodies blaze a glaring white.

Tears freezing from their new plight.

The world has become hard and cold.

My trembling body feels old.

Surrounded on four sides by white.

The bright glare blinded my sight.

White is the color of my nightgown.

I stand and shiver with a frown.

A shadow emerges from the trees.

I hope it is not him, pretty please.

My body moves forward against my will.

I grab a thick tree and try to hold still.

I dig my feet into the packed snow.

But I must go where the wind might blow.

ICY COLD

Ice Fire

Cold.

Icy cold.

My toes feel numb.

My fingers tingle.

The wind howls.

Sleep tempts me.

But I must continue.

A few more steps.

Silence wraps its arms around me.

I raise my face to the sky.

The colors take my breath away.

TIMES HARD TO BEAR

A town where the snow is black,

bringing coldness & fear.

Old remnants of tears held back

& times too hard to bear.

Woven from black sheets of rain,

fear covers in disarray.

Anguished & frozen with pain,

dark petals fall in dismay.

SNOW IS FALLING

Snow is falling on the trees,
hanging tight to the cold leaves.
A winter wonderland in the south.
I gaze ahead and open my mouth.
A bitter taste fills my heart & soul
as I plunge into the rabbit hole.

UNWANTED FOOTSTEPS

Source:

Silence sweeps the streets clean.
No voices to mark the white surface.
A cold wind brushes away
prints of unwanted footsteps.
Lights in the distance
warn us of inhabitants.
Ignore those earthly reminders
of noise and commotion.
Instead, enjoy the serenity
nature presents to us.

ALONE WITH THE SNOW

Night Walk – {by Tiina Törmänen} | {Official WebSite}

A walk in the dark.
Alone in the park.
The cold creeps.
The trees shiver.
The falling snow whispers.
The stars sparkle.
No voices.
No noises.
Alone with the snow
And the bitter cold.

FOOTSTEPS IN THE SNOW

The brisk nip in the air,
as we trudge in the snow.
We feel an icy wind on our faces
as it pummels our bodies.
Someone else has done it.
We follow the footsteps,
a frozen trail in the snow.

ICE COLD

The landscape is cold and bleak.
I’m beginning to feel weak.

Ice is melting in my shoes.
I’m getting the winter blues.

I can’t find my way from here.
I had thought the town was near.

I’ve been walking for days.
I’m in some kind of daze.

There’s a break in the rocks ahead.
I hope they don’t leave me for dead.

My friends have to come back to me.
Rocks and trees are all I can see.

My friends are in the park playing ball.
I didn’t have to be afraid at all.

WHITE BLANKET

Source:

Look to the glowing skies,
Magic before my eyes.
Snow flutters to the ground
Without even a sound.
Masking the dirt with white,
So pretty and so bright.
I hope it can remain this way,
A blanket for one more day.

I WELCOME THEE

Clean me.
Snow on me.
Wet my hair.
Fall on my eyelids.
Drench my body.
Whiten the streets.
I welcome thee
into my heart and soul.
