ICY COLD

Ice Fire

Cold.

Icy cold.

My toes feel numb.

My fingers tingle.

The wind howls.

Sleep tempts me.

But I must continue.

A few more steps.

Silence wraps its arms around me.

I raise my face to the sky.

The colors take my breath away.

TO THE UNKNOWN

Niagara Falls, over the edge

TO THE UNKNOWN

Take a walk over the edge.
If only we could.
A step into the unknown.
A fall into rushing water.
A soothing coldness.
An icy headiness.
No other sounds.
Only rushing water.
Holding you near and close.
Safe until you hit rock bottom.
To the unknown.

THE DICTATES OF OLD MAN WINTER

flowersgardenlove:

The epic battle of the seasons.
Old man winter tries to
erase all signs of Fall.
He covers the ground
with his icy cold snow.
But Fall holds her leaves close
to her body and her heart.
Some have fallen,
lone casualties of war.
The battle rages
on the ground,
in the air,
and in the water.
Fall will have to succumb
to the dictates of Old man winter.
She has no choice.
But she puts up a valiant battle.
She will be back after Summer
finishes heating the earth.
Farewell.
We’ll see you soon.
