ANCHORS IN THE WIND

ponderation:
Postcard from Tulum by Todd Wall
Life hangs in the balance.
Calm blue waters.
Pretty pink sand.
Palm trees waving in the breeze.
But life hangs in the balance.
One big burst of wind and
the palm trees will go flying.
Lifted from their roots,
from their anchor to the ground.
One small breeze.
One incidental shift in the wind.
And all could be gone.
The more precarious,
the more precious life becomes.

FILL THE PAGES

Fill in the pages.
Fill the pages with
words and stories.
The world does not
have to be dark.
It does not have to be dreary.
We do not have to be alone.
We need to fill our lives with
people and events.
Stories to tell our children.
Words to light our paths.
No hovering in the darkness,
waiting for our time to come to an end.
But we need to stand in the light
and enjoy life.
It is short and precious.
But it is our right to fill in the pages.

PERFECT FOR TWO

A perfect setting.
Two boats for two rowers
to row across the still water.
I could almost feel the sun on my face,
and hear the birds chirping.
Time like this is precious,
and should be savored.
We just have to find the time.
