The Battle for Oasis

Let the darkness lull me to sleep,
with dreams of red sunsets.
Clouds drifting on cotton balls,
encircling me with their softness.

Let the moon’s face shine on me,

making me feel safe and secure.
The stars twinkle in merriment,
ready to tackle the night.

The day brings a new enemy

to our peaceful shore.
A dark kingdom will rise up,
a new kingdom for The Dead.

A hooded figure approaches me,
his gait slow and sure.
He slowly pulls back his hood
to reveal the creature beneath.

“You have waited for me, dear one.
I will have my ice princess at my side.”
Wolf quickens his stride to reach me,
But I turn my face away.

I peek through my eyelashes

At his beautiful face.
He abruptly turns around

To summon his army.

Over his shoulder he whispers,
“I’m so sorry you will
fall in battle like the others.
Goodbye, my ice princess.”

What form will Wolf take on in book 2?
You will soon find out.

THE DEAD GAME

Grand Central Terminal

Grand Central Terminal.
There is no other like you.
Keeping the pace through
the calm and the hectic.
Providing light through your
mullioned windows.
The watcher of it all.
The keeper of schedules.
But most of all,
the keeper of time for those
passing through your lofty gates.

ONLY A MEMORY

A fireworks display
burns bright for a short time.
Then flickers out.
Leaving no trace behind.
Only a memory.
Use your brief time wisely.
Make it dramatic.
Make it memorable.
Make it everlasting.

WHITE BLANKET OF SNOW

The snow has fallen.
A hush falls across the city.
A city covered in a soft,
white blanket of snow.
It cushions the earth.
Giving a clean look
to what was once dark.

A DAY AT THE BEACH

Source:

Nothing more perfect
than a day at the beach.
Nothing more serene
than the rolling waves.
Nothing more peaceful
than hot tropical sun.
I want to be there.

A DAY IN OASIS, FLORIDA

A sea breeze to soothe my aching soul.
Palm trees to fan my hot body.
Cold water caressing my toes.
White sand flowing through my fingers.
A day in Oasis, Florida.
A day at the beach.
