PURPLE TONIGHT

The night has turned purple.
A purple lens to cover my view.
Illusion replaces reality.
In a world of lies and half-truths.
The world glows purple tonight.

TEMPTING

Sparkle for me ocean so blue.
Shine for me so bright.
Your beauty is entrancing
and much too tempting.

I want to throw my body
into your long arms.
Let them wrap
around my cold body.

Pull me deeper
into your smooth depths.
No god to defeat us.
No demon to lure us apart.

I’m coming inside you now.
My body feels like ice.
Icicles hanging from my hair.
I’m numb from the cold.

Warm me.
Soothe me.
Hold me.
I’m dying a slow death.

I had trusted you with all my heart.
But my heart has stopped pumping.
I float alone in the cold water.
No one to save me.

I am a fool to have trusted you.
I am a fool no longer.
I am nothing.

GREEN EYE

Your reflection taunts you.
It mirrors your actions.
In shades of green.
Stare back at it if you may.
It will always taunt back.
An endless horror story.
From you and right back.

A FUTURE TOO NEAR

where is everyone? by travisanderson

What may the future hold?
Buildings of concrete and stone.
Travel by flying cars.
Trees of green foam.
Sunlight only a reflection.
Lighted sabers for protection.
A future hard to bear.
A future all too near.

A SERVING OF PIE

Please give me a serving
of this beautiful pie.
A slice of heaven for me,
topped with a cherry.
White beaches of pink,
surrounded by fuchsia cream.
Chocolate chips floating
in an alcove of blue cake.
I dip my finger into this heaven,
ready for a taste of this feast.

THE DEAD RETURN

Source:

The sea churns.
It burns with anger.
Waves of passion.
Ready to strike.
It will hit the shore.
So be prepared.
The Dead return.
For you and me.

SADNESS FOLLOWS ME

Source:

Sadness follows me
wherever I go.
It haunts me
in all its forms.
There’s no escape
from its long arms.
I close my eyes
to see its long shadow.

THE RIGHT MOMENT

He is watching the town.
Peeking into the windows.
Shadowing the residents.
Waiting for the right moment.
For his return.

FOOTSTEPS

The snow melts,
leaving trails to the lake.
A cold wind brushes by,
leaving me goosebumps.
Ice hangs from the trees,
leaving clear spider webs.
Snow covers the grass,
leaving footsteps behind.
I leave this cold scene,
leaving my own behind.

FOREST SO DEEP

Source:heckelphono

In the forest so deep
there are creatures to meet.
At day they’re fast asleep.
At night they can’t be beat.

The howling wind plays their song
of bloody deaths for us all.
They’re not for this place for long.
They wait for the town to fall.

They walk on silent feet
through the forest so deep.
I must keep moving my feet
Without stopping to sleep.

They are surrounding me.
I can’t outrun their reach.
Somehow I must get free
and make it to the beach.

The ground is opening.
Sadly I know for whom.
I’m falling in a hole,
which will soon be my tomb.

READ ME A TALE

Read me a tale, grandfather,
of battles and dead bodies.
Turn the pages, grandfather,
of the book of horrors.
Tell me more stories, grandfather,
of evil armies and sadness.
I will close my eyes, grandfather,
and will the darkness away.
