RED

Hues of red fill the humid air.
The residents hide behind closed doors.
The tourists huddle in fear at the hotel.
The town waits deserted and quiet.
The woods rumble with music.
Dignitaries visit from around the world.
Limousines line the paths to the glass house,
Where guests fill the dance floor.
Linda watches them laugh and drink.
An undercurrent lies beneath the gaiety.
As if evil waits to raise its ugly head.
The Dead Game has begun.

PEOPLE TO KILL

What a great sign.
It could be sitting at the
entrance to Oasis.
A town plagued by evil.
Evil in its many forms.
Vampires, human vampires,
and vampire derivatives.
Playing their deadly games.
At the expense of unsuspecting
tourists and residents.
Come and join the fun.
You can be added to their kill list.
Don’t miss out.
Your life could end today.

AN EVIL UNDERCURRENT

Cape Cod July 2013_-60 (by jackfrench)

Sunset brings the night.
It brings dark shadows.
Hues of red fill the humid air.
Blood flows freely through the streets.
The residents hide behind closed doors.
Tourists huddle in fear at their hotel.
The town waits deserted and quiet.
The woods behind town rumble with music.
Champagne flows at the mansion of an original resident.
Dignitaries fly in from around the world.
Limousines line the forest paths.
Guests swirl around the dance floor.
Linda is afraid of the lifelike glass statues.
She watches the beautiful guests laugh and drink.
But beneath it all she can feel an evil undercurrent.
As if evil is waiting to raise it ugly head.
The Dead Game has just begun.

WHY DO WE WRITE?

Why do we write?
Our minds want more.
We need to explore the world.
To explore the unknown.

If we can’t fulfill our dreams in our daily lives,
Then we can fulfill them in our writing.
Stories about love, evil creatures, and deadly games.

I've always wanted to live in a small town.
So I created a small town in my book
And called it, Oasis.

I love to read books.
The main character moves to Oasis
And opens a bookstore.

You get the idea.
The main character, Linda,
Is living my dream life.

My mind takes a dark turn.
Life is too good and care-free.
Oasis needs a darker side.

The original residents live in a forest
And only come out at night.
This is when the fun and games begin.

Do you see where this is going?
If not, you can always read my book.
I finally got my small town,
Where fantasies come true,
And some just don’t.

PARADISE LOST

bearandsoul:

Oasis is a perfect paradise.
Tourists flock there every year
for its warm waters and white-sand beaches.
Little do they know, but the
town turns overnight to a dark haven of evil.
Dark shadows roam the quiet streets at night.
Dead bodies are found on the beach the next morning.
The residents must find out what is happening to their
town and their missing friends.
Join them on their journey to uncover the deeply
buried secrets of Oasis.

THE DEAD GAME--DAY 36

Todd drove his sleek black Porsche down Main Street, past the dark stores that were already closed for the day. The streets and alleyways of town were deserted and quiet. Everyone had retreated home early, he realized, even those who hadn’t been invited to the party. Maybe he wasn’t the only one who had an ominous feeling about tonight.
After the sheriff’s office, he made a sharp right turn to take the long winding road up the hill. He drove past private residences that were almost hidden from sight, set far back from the road…nestled behind thick bushes, tall lines of trees, and tall metal gates.
The first house they passed was Reece Stone’s enormous dome of a house, constructed out of concrete without windows or trim of any kind. Reece was a reclusive software king who’d made millions before he’d disappeared from the public eye. Todd liked Reece and his easygoing manner, which had always drawn people to him before he’d retreated from public life. He was now playing with his computers at his new home and developing new software to make his life and other people’s lives easier. His house was computerized and voice-activated. Todd loved to tease the computer system that answered in a woman’s voice with a woman’s point of view.
