DEMONS WITHIN

A light shines from within.
From a lone window.
Darkness veils the others.
Demons trapped in their cells.
Locked in their prisons.
Waiting for their master.
To unleash its terror.

TIME TO PLAY

Puppet Master 2 (1991)

What do I see at night
when I wake from sleep?
A puppet coming alive,
on the shelf in my room.
It creaks.
It groans.
Its head spins around.
It can’t be real.
It’s a wooden puppet.
No one to pulls its strings.
Until it speaks.
In a deep voice.
It can’t be alive.
Until it says,
“Time to play.”
I run to the door.
It can’t be.
It’s standing before me.
Taller than me.
Arms reaching to me.
A gleam in its black eyes.
It can’t be.
But it is.
It’s alive.

THE OCEAN

THE OCEAN
No greater force on earth.
No master.
No remorse.
No purpose.
No stopping.
Not by a mountain
or by man.

FATHER TIME

kidmograph:
GTWY
Time is a force.
A presence we are
all too familiar with.
It leads us to the unknown.
It takes us on a bumpy ride.
A ride that can stop at any moment
to throw us off.
We hold on for dear life,
but we never know when
our precious time will be up.
We pray to it.
Hold on to it.
It is our master,
holding our reigns
in its mighty hands.
Hands that can be gentle
or tough and unyielding.
Please be gentle with us,
Father time.
